PTA Presentation November 6, 2014
PBIS--Big Ideas
PBIS is not a curriculum - it is a framework to identify needs, develop strategies, and evaluate practice
toward success
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is a process for teaching children appropriate behavior and
providing the supports necessary to sustain that behavior.
Lilja’s PBIS Process:● Redefine Lilja’s mission statement and core values.● Define expectations for core values throughout areas of
the school (hallway, cafeteria, all school assembly, recess, arrival and dismissal)
● Teach positive expectations to students.● Reward positive behavior through a recognition
system--Pride Paws.● Classroom and school-wide reward systems for
expected behavior.
Mission Statement and Core ValuesThe mission of Lilja School is to create a supportive, inclusive community that inspires everyone to be learners, reach their full potential, and become respectful, empowered citizens.
Lilja Lion Pride: We are a community of Responsible, Respectful, Kind, and Engaged Learners
