This month, we at Lightworker are going within and seeking outside; learning, growing, understanding and getting to know. Inner and outer knowledge.

This means discovering new modes of healing, sharing stories of enlightenment, and learning more about ourselves, others, and the planet as a whole.

I am continually broadening my knowledge base. To me, it is one of the joys of life to discover and learn more every day - I feel bored, stagnant and blunted when I cannot or do not. Therefore, this edition has been especially fun to create and edit! I hope you share in this pleasure as you read the features, columns and regulars.

As a channel for the Beings of Light, I am guided to express new wisdom on a daily basis, and this fascinates me as much as the readers around the world who subscribe to receive the free ‘Daily Wisdoms’. I am grateful for this role in the Ascension Process, and am reminded by my guides that typing them is not sufficient - I must walk my talk! And on this note, I want to reassure you that we all stumble and graze our knees as we learn new skills, practices or belief systems. At various times we are all children finding our feet, but with perseverance we will walk with ease and confidence, and we progress quicker if we are patient, compassionate and kind to ourselves.

So let us celebrate what we know, embrace what we are learning, and excitedly anticipate that which is yet to come.

Love and light

Each and every one of us is intuitive; we are all endowed with the wisdom and knowledge to guide us joyfully through our journey on Earth. But in today’s climate, many of us seem to have lost our way and are unable to hear our inner voice or following our natural path. We frequently experience stress or tension, resulting in low levels of vitality that literally throw us off balance and pull us away from our pure state of wellbeing.

Modern day life is full of bombardments causing us to feel worn out and fatigued. Our vitality is drained; television, newspapers and other types of media overload us with information; world economic conflicts affect our everyday lives; at work or home we face problems and misunderstandings that cause

stress and anxiety. All these elements have an impact on our health, but by working on our beliefs and perceptions, and discovering ways in which to release tension through meditation, yoga, massage or other such techniques, we can alleviate much of the pressures that leave us depleted.

The influences of electromagnetic radiation

But what of the invisible elements created by society in general that we don’t immediately think about or fully understand? Unfortunately, environmental pollution - otherwise referred to as electromagnetic radiation - is very real and can create discomfort, behavioural problems, and in some cases, illnesses that are very much outside an individual’s control.

One of the primary candidates of electromagnetic pollution is electrical energy. When electricity is passed through a conductor of wire, it produces magnetic fields around that conductor and radiates energy into the environment; this is what constantly occurs within our homes and cities.

Invisible electromagnetic radiation escapes from thousands of domestic appliances ,every day. Think computers, mobile phones, Wi-Fi, radio

and television transmitters, as well as hairdryers, blenders, microwaves, air conditioning, washing machines, electrical shavers, medical equipment etc., the list goes on and on. Of course, it’s not only domestic electrical energy or appliances, you can add to the list high-tension wires, TV masts and underground cables.

All this equipment and the devices incorporating electrical technology act as antennas, which collect and radiate disorienting energy waves into the environment. After continued exposure, these waves alter the natural equilibrium of the physical body and are contributing factors that lower its resistance to bacterial and viral infections. Until such time as the cause is removed, they can also lead to afflictions such as headaches, dizziness, tiredness, loss of memory, poor concentration, or even disturbed behaviour patterns.

Research into electromagnetic pollution and its effects

I believe that sustaining our vitality is paramount if we are to maintain our natural pure state of wellbeing. Both electromagnetic pollution and trauma create a detrimental effect on this vitality. To counteract their impact, I spent 20 years researching

True happiness comes from listening to your soul, through instinct and intuition.

Page 11: Lightworker 11.10

and developing products that can transform negative energy, as well as a pioneering therapy system that can easily and effortlessly release traumatic memories and stress.

My research showed that when a person is free from electromagnetic pollution and unresolved situations controlling their lives, it results in the correct equilibrium of all states: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. This means permanently experiencing the natural flow and enjoyment of life, listening to your soul, and following your natural instincts and intuition. Synchronistic situations slot smoothly into place and you find yourself positioned effortlessly at the right time in the right place. Life is beautiful, pleasurable, loving and joyful.

My interest in energy work began in 1969 when employed by a textile group as Head of Research and Development and responsible for initiating ergonomic principles. It meant assessing the health and safety of the workforce, their working environment and the suitability of the tools and equipment they were using. Investigation into how electronic pollution affects humans began after new electronic equipment was installed and the operators began to complain of fatigue, as well as pains and numbness in their legs and feet.

The company put these problems down to stress, overwork or simply not wanting to do the job. It was something I simply couldn’t ignore, and the quest to discover a simple workable solution to electromagnetic influences began. It was a mission that took many, many years of observation and research to perfect.

The development of LifeShields

Eventually, I developed and engineered special devices known as ‘LifeShields’. for both personal and home use. On 15 January 2003, the technology was tested, proven to work effectively, and granted a certificate of patent that was issued to me as the proprietor for the invention.

All the Shields (body, phone, computer, car, home) contain specially designed processed micro crystal particles that – when combined - act as a trap for wave filters that store and transform any harmful electrical or magnetic frequencies into balanced energy, before releasing it. You could liken it to your body’s own natural chakra centres, which broadcast and receive energy.

In particular, the ‘BodyShield’, whilst performing the same transformation of energy, is adapted to also harmonize with the individual’s own operating

centres. In short, it creates an effective, invisible, feather-light protective layer around the body, guarding against intrusive subtle energy waves. At the same time, it corrects any imbalances in the cells’ polarity or equilibrium, providing greater clarity, focus, sharpened memory, increased energy and vitality, as well as re-aligning you with your natural instincts and intuition.

Colour BioPsychology Therapy

At the time of my R&D employment, I was also qualified as a Psychologist and Hypnotherapist, running a private evening clinic. I was equally intrigued about finding a solution to eliminate the harmful effects repeated stress and trauma had on the body as I was about investigating the electromagnetic fields. In 1997, I began to evolve a completely new healing system called ‘Colour BioPsychology’ that could easily remove emotional blockages without the client needing to re-live any trauma or pain.

In normal therapy, the hardest aspect of managing transitional changes is getting the client to let go of any past trauma, repeated behaviours or beliefs in order to create a new identity; this usually takes time to resolve. People often give more thought to the future,

but to move forward you must let go of the past. There must be an ending first; otherwise the past is still unresolved. Repeated behavioural patterns are the result of the individual trying to constantly create a satisfying ending or completion in order to move on to new beginnings.

Colour BioPsychology Therapy uses specially designed colour charts that represent psychological disturbances and a colour light wand that uses quantum energy fields. The charts and wand provide a simplistic means of identifying times of trauma and stress, as well as a pain-free method for their removal. The harmful energy of unresolved trauma is effectively released, allowing the subconscious and conscious minds to communicate in a natural way without the need to re-live the emotional upset. In this manner, the all-important ending is reached easily and swiftly, allowing the client to shift rapidly into the transitional change and on to new beginnings. Old repeated patterns of behaviour or dysfunction are eliminated, creating a new identify and sense of purpose.

The Colour Biopsychology Therapy Experience, by Rachel Willis

I am a therapy expert, and well versed in everything from Acupuncture to Zero-Tolerance Pain Absolution. So I approach each new modality with an open mind and willingness to learn, experience and discover what this particular healing has to offer.

And so it was that I met with Patrick Walsh for Colour Biopsychology Therapy.

What struck me was a) the simplicity of the therapy, b) the genius of its creator sitting opposite me, and c) his glowing radiance, always the sign of a Lightworker. Patrick’s knowledge is unsurpassed, and as he explained the theory of using gravitational energy fields to create transitional endings and alleviate trauma, stress and old behavioural patterns, I was eager to begin!

Ahead of our session, I sent Patrick a recent photo of myself, and he had used this to prepare special coloured light charts tailored to my unique present and past life paths. These were used in conjunction with a harmonising light device to instantaneously rebalance my energy field. Painless, fast and effective, now that’s my kind of therapy!

Weeks later, I can feel the subtle changes permeating through my life, positively impacting my health, work, finances, relationships and more.

I shall return for another session later this month, and commend Patrick for integrating his knowledge from many years of proven natural healing practices into this revolutionary Colour Biopsychology Therapy system.

I’m probably not alone in stating that the biggest challenge I’ve faced in life is trying to find out who I am, and why I’m here on this beautiful planet at this particularly challenging time. I was acutely aware from an early age how much other people impacted on me, and later on, that our conditioning and events in childhood determine behaviour patterns and responses in life that one “couldn’t help”. I never felt that I fit in. Over the past thirty years, I explored different philosophies and belief systems - and just about every therapy from A-Z - all in the interests of healing and trying to become more self-aware.

Awakening to Human Design

The first time I came across Human Design (HD), I knew I had to have a

reading, ignoring my critical mind telling me “There you go again, off on another search”. The first thing that seriously got my attention was when I read that, as a human species, we are going through a significant mutation. We are currently in a phase of consciousness-raising that began in 1781, and this particular door is closing in 2027. All the children born after that time are going to be very different in their level of awareness. For the past couple of thousand years we needed gurus and teachers to show us the way. We are being given the opportunity to find out how we can mature into being our own gurus and teachers, because now is the time to let go of needing others to tell us who we are and how to live. We are being asked to mature on every level, to become our own authority, and to be authentic as ourselves.

The problem is, most of us don’t truly know, or feel comfortable and accepting of who we are, because we’re all conditioned by the time we’re seven years old. Our task in life now is for us to be able to see what is conditioning, and what is actually our unique genetic blueprint. To receive an HD Reading, the Analyst needs your accurate time of birth. This is not Astrology, which is more about influences. HD is about finding your expression, your true self - separate from conditioning -

and knowing how to make decisions correctly.

What better way to challenge and educate ourselves than through the knowledge that HD brings, by clearly showing you the blueprint you were born with? Obviously, conditioning does not occur consciously, it’s simply a part of the human experience of interaction. We all experience it during our lives - good, bad, and indifferent. What HD brings you is the awareness of exactly how it affects you, and also how you can be yourself instead of acting out of unconscious mental habits and reactions, which takes you away from being yourself. An HD reading will tell you what your individual response, motivation and aversions are going to be from the moment of birth. It outlines themes for your life, and how you interact with other people in a way that is correct for you to be true to your Higher Self.

Decision-making with authority

If you could think of one single thing that would make your life a lot easier, what would that be? The answer is the ability to make decisions correctly, every decision, no matter how big or small. Making the right choices steers us towards a life of less and less resistance.

Erica YongeHuman Design: To Challenge And Educate With Self Knowledge

I’d like to start by revealing one of my favourite quotes, by St. Augustine: “People will travel to wonder at the height of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering.”

Driven by curiosity and enthusiasm to explore many paths over the past 30 years, I am particularly interested in spirituality and psychology, especially the mind/body connection. I have been a practising Acupuncturist since 1991, and came to Human Design in 2000.I do readings face to face, because that’s the way my own Design works. The read-ing takes an hour and a half, costs £100, and is recorded on a cd for you to take away, along with an information pack. Please feel free to phone me if you‘d like to ask questions.

The fascinating thing is that we’re not all designed to do this in the same way, and most importantly, it is not our mind that is meant to be making the decisions. Even Socrates stated that the mind cannot reliably determine truth from falsehood. Our minds are for measuring, collecting information, sifting and sorting ideas, inspirations, doubts and confusions – but not for actual decision-making. If it were true that the mind was brilliant at decision-making, most of us would never have any problems in life! The mind can be like a petty dictator that wants to be in charge, and most of the time the mind is driven by fear and conditioning.

Knowing your Design isn’t a guarantee of never having any difficulties or challenges in life. What it does give you is an inner confidence, self-acceptance and excitement about knowing that you can face life as your authentic self, without judgment, guilt or comparisons. Imagine having a clear view of the themes that are going to play out in your life, and information on how you impact other people, and how others will impact you? When you know your genetic blueprint you will get the correct experiences, for you will find out your unique strategy and authority. Knowing how our energy works, physically, emotionally

and mentally is also a huge factor in educating ourselves so that we can be more self aware, self accepting and compassionate, and act with a healthy, enlightened self interest.

HD is not an intellectual pursuit. Learning about the map of your Design is very different from exploring the territory of your life. It is in the experiment, the ongoing application of the tools HD gives you, and the observation of your experiences where truth is revealed. This life is worthy of your full attention.

The Human Design Experience, by Roz Candy

We sent Lightworker reader Roz Candy for a Human Design Reading with Erica, and here is what she had to say…

Erica’s Human Design reading was very positively received. It gave a massive sense of clarity about some of my attributes and just generally about ‘the way I am.’

My expectations before the reading were open... I hadn’t spent a great deal of time thinking about what it was going to be like. Saying that, I was very excited about having the reading done and indeed sensed a good feeling about it. This, in part, could have been because Erica put me at such ease during a couple of brief phone calls prior to the reading. I felt massive warmth in Erica’s voice and I can’t deny this definitely sparked some enthusiastic preconceptions about what the reading was going to be like.

Erica was quite firm when explaining to me that the whole point of the reading was to equip me with the tools I need to live my life ‘correctly.’ I grasped this immediately. It was tied into the conception of ‘being true to yourself’ (which, yes, is a bit of a cliché but a very poignant one at that) and how this would enable me to make the correct decisions, according to my emotions, which will result in leading the correct life that is true to how I am designed to be. It was pleasantly surprising to hear Erica so passionate about my individual reading. At times, I felt as though Erica was only on this planet to conduct my reading and no one else’s (needless to say, this is a reflection of Erica’s passion for reading the human design, which adds to the overall experience)!

I guess it’s fair to say that I was very intrigued by Erica’s ability to, at times, be really very specific about me and my life. Upon reflection, I did consider if this could be Erica’s incredibly perceptive self picking up on my energy, rather than interpreting what the chart says. However, I have been assured that other people I know received completely incomparable readings, yet equally specific. This immediately restored my confidence that the reading is wholly Erica expressing what the chart says, without any subjective inference.

I was bursting with excitement as I left Erica’s house, I almost felt set-free because I was told that certain things about me are just the way they are supposed to be. It feels like a bit of a get-out-of-jail card because I could simply put my attributes down to the way I’m designed to be. By embracing this idea, you can work ‘with’ yourself and make progress towards being successful, in whatever form that may take.

The human design reading by Erica pounds off the walls in my head all day everyday and fills me with an emancipated feeling. It is quite simply overwhelming at times. My reading awakened a lot of instincts already simmering within, and I believe it is for that reason that I have run with it, so positively. I felt in touch with my emotions but questioned my ‘role’ or ‘path’ in life prior to meeting Erica; it was almost like the human design reading was what I’d been waiting for all this time, without knowing it.

Erica has unlocked the door in which the key was lodged all this long while.

Let me share some examples of how this may be appearing for you in a more pronounced way at this stage in our collective paradigm shift:

a) You have a heightened feeling that you are racing against time, yet are unclear about where the final destination is;

b) You are highly engaged in the energy of distraction and spending more time than usual watching TV, surfing the internet, and spending long hours talking on the phone with friends;

c) You feel that you are losing time, are miscalculating arrival times, non-completion of deadlines, over-committing, and much more;

d) You find yourself exclaiming, “I don’t have enough time” or “it’s not the right time!”;

e) You are noticing that you attract

people who are not respecting your time; f) You are spending more mental energy than usual reverting to the past and reviewing old wounds or searching for ‘happier’ times; or

g) You are spending more time than usual in future-thinking, trying to anticipate how your life, situations, opportunities and more are going to unfold.

I would like to share with you that if you see yourself in one or more of these scenarios, you are not alone. In fact, with the new paradigm arriving with what seems like record speed, our relationship with time is becoming more confusing and unclear.

Why is this occurring?

On a deep and profound cellular level, you are releasing your attachment to linear time and ALL of the subliminal programs, interferences, and contracts that you previously anchored around the concept of time.

There is bountiful healing and energy shifting occurring for you so that you can be fully aligned to the embodiment of PRESENCE, which will be your new way of BE-ingness as you evolve into the new paradigm.

Presence will be your admission ticket into the new paradigm in the most joyous, harmonious way!

All there is is the present moment. On a soul level, you are learning to relate to the present moment as a 5th

Dimensional BE-ing as you evolve from your 3rd dimensional relationship with presence.

Like any new relationship, you are reading subtle energies, building rapport, establishing trust and creating connection with time. When you invite in the energy of awe and wonder, and give yourself permission to explore and cultivate new relationships (whatever those may be), it is the more joyous path.

So, as you release the programs attached to linear time, it frees you to have an authentic, divinely inspired relationship with presence, which is THE moment of ALL THAT IS.

I invite you to take a moment to breathe that in and really FEEL what that vibration creates in your energy field!

The more you connect with the present moment, the more you facilitate deep alignment and balance with your divine identity, and as such, your divine purpose.

Lightworkermag.compage fifteen november 2010

Jennifer LongmoreAligning Yourself To “New Paradigm” Time

At this point in our paradigm shift, I’m sure you have been noticing a marked difference in time acceleration. Lately, I’ve been seeing and feeling a collective trend emerging and it has to do with our actual relationship to the time. Have you noticed this too?

Time is ripe

Isn’t it time that took a stand for your divinity and fully aligned to a purpose-filled life?

The time is NOW. You are BE-ing called to ascend to a higher vibration of time and space as a highly conscious, fully present BE-ing of light. Are you ready to give yourself permission to BE all that you are and were divinely intended to BE?

My loving challenge to you is, “if not now, then when?”

When will it be the ‘right’ time?

Time is a series of events all existing simultaneously. There is no order to time since time is not linear, thus there can be no right time... time just is, and it is ALL THAT IS.

So, in this moment, my request to you is to harmonize with the energy of action that is emerging now, and take a powerful, heart-centred stand for something new in your life that you previously told yourself you did not have enough time to BE, have, or act upon.

Once you identify what you are taking a stand for, then create an inspired action list of daily do-able steps you can take

to move this forward and determine how you plan to celebrate this when you have completed this shift.

I invite you to repeat this often, as with any new relationship, we deepen our connection with regular attention and commitment.

Namaste.

Indeed, self-confidence is often cited as the single most important aspect of one’s personality when determining success, either on the home front or in the work place. The logic here is that while qualifications and determination are important factors, these would not actually get a hardworking individual the sense of achievement they could ultimately enjoy if they did not exercise their self worth.

The mind is constantly imposing limitations on itself. It is no good if one can intellectually see what brings one forward, but lacks the confidence to make those important steps towards real progress. Self-discovery is a lifelong process.

How can you to pick a direction to navigate yourself forward?

Earl Nightingale said it perfectly when he spoke the greatest secret ever kept from the hard workers in the world: “You are what you think you are”.

Think to yourself. What could I possibly achieve? What do I have to do before I finally sit back, nod to myself and say, “I am happy with what I have done so far. Where do I go next?”

Accomplishments that make you feel happy and confident are your own worthwhile goals achieved over time. People who sell confidence in seminars or self-help books are eight times out of ten selling this simple ‘secret’ that has been told and retold, over and over. Knowledge rightfully has a reputation as a very powerful thing. Have the confidence to pick a goal with a purpose, rid yourself of materialism, define your goal and your purpose in 3-4 sentences, and stick to it.

Some of us are lucky to be living in privileged parts of the world in one of the most dynamic times in history. Technology, communication patterns and attitudes are moving forward every day, and we have it within ourselves to make an empire without using anything more than our minds. And yet this is also one of the most complicated and seemingly daunting times as well. Blurry personal relationships are acceptable. The worldwide economy is shaky. Some are frightened of financial ruin. Some would rather reserve their resources than working towards carving a better foundation for their relationships, goals and dreams.

Circumstance shapes people

When asked why people stay in what they consider to be an uninspiring line of work or remain in stagnant relationships, a staggering amount of people will tell you that they are staying put as a means to an end, and would rather do something else for a living or move on with their lives.

Look at the accomplishments you’ve seen people make. Are those who accomplish them downtrodden individuals? Are they caught in circumstantial and situational lethargy, or are they adventurous, hard working and self-confident people who believe they have the power to change the situations and circumstances that would limit growth?

When observing people interacting, there is often an individual present who seems unconcerned about whether or not others are judging him or her. Certain individuals get along without worrying about the small things that happen around them in a certain group. This comes from two sources, one external and one internal.

Looking at the internal factor: An interesting exercise is to as quickly as you can decide on one word that for you accurately describes you as a person. Is the word a neutral observation? If so, think about that neutral observation and analyze how you feel about it.

BIOG

Page 19: Lightworker 11.10

You’d be surprised how polarizing this can be for many people. Even positive words can often be born out of a sense of desire rather than observation. Take ‘confident’, for example. Did that word pop into your head because you were feeling confident, or because you seek confidence? Was the word a physical feature you liked? Or disliked? Was it connected to something you’d like to accomplish?

Reframing

Confidence is an incredibly important trait to possess, and it comes from within. Feeling confident may be a deeply rooted personal decision available to any individual. If you subconsciously feel that you deserve less than everyone around you, and opt for inertia instead of looking for possibilities that may open doors and instigate a forward movement, no opportunities will fly into your lap on a magic carpet. Guilt and fear are huge obstacles. Understand that the past belong firmly in the past. Everyone is fallible. Perfection does not exist, and no situation is 100% ideal. And the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence if one sows, waters and weeds out the lawn.

Failure and loss in the past may not indicate a repetition of failure and loss now or in the future. Projecting fears or trust issues gets one nowhere. On the contrary, previous failure and loss

might instead of inducing low self esteem pinpoint hidden agendas and common pitfalls so that these may be avoided next time. Hindsight is an asset that could be utilized towards more sustainable views, situations and solutions if guilt, fear and blame are kept out of the equation.

Recognize that confusion is a gift at times. Inventing something new, thinking new thoughts or getting rid of outdated attitudes would not be possible without a level of confusion and shaky insecurity. Much tends to come to a standstill when status quo reigns. Exploration follows confusion, and confusion gives us license to be intrepid in thought and action unless fear and projection creates white noise that blurs the picture. Experience and confidence - combined with a pair of feet placed firmly on terra firma - will help fine-tune and bring out clarity, if one chooses to stop focusing on what may go wrong.

Broadening mindsets and pursuing possibilities is an active choice. It is time to burn the book of excuses. Every experience, even those perceived as failures and disappointments, is a source of learning and wisdom, as this tale will testify:

“Two frogs fell into a vat of cream. It was too deep to jump out of. One frog gave up, and drowned. The other one was convinced it would live long and prosper and used his strong legs to swim around in circles. It was hard work. The frog was frightened, exhausted and tired when the cream churned into butter and it could leap out of the vat with ease.”

Page 20: Lightworker 11.10

But I do know this: the road to transformation and self-knowledge may be challenging, but based on the experience and comments of my clients, it is well worth the effort. The process of finding renewal, clarity, and a greater degree of peace than we may presently have, is the purpose of the human soul.

At times, souls struggle, and in such moments our lives can feel so unbearable that we become overwhelmed by our difficulties. Wisdom suggests that although outside events may be very challenging to our sense of equilibrium, it is how we respond from the inside that makes all the difference. However, it isn’t always outside events that present the test; most of us have enough of a challenge simply being ourselves.

Effects of the past

Often, our responses come from deep within our psyche, where they have lived comfortably for years. When these responses remain unaddressed, we create stasis. It is hard to truly move on when our deepest motivations are partially hidden, forgotten and mysterious to us.

These responses will move into every area of our being. They become part of our vibrational patterning, reaching from the farthest edges of our auric field to deep within the cellular structure of our bodies.

It is at this stage of the journey that Jane and I sought a remedy to complement other forms of healing work/therapy, and discovered Crystal Healing Oils. When applied to the body, they move into our vibrational field and from there open up the areas of body and mind that are ready for transformation.

As well as using the oils in my massage practice, we came to understand that the deeper value of the oils shows itself when they are used daily over a period of weeks. This a highly individual therapy; each treatment is tailor-made for the client and dowsing allows us to accurately select the right Crystal or combination of Crystals from which we make the oils.

Awakening inner knowing

Once the person starts to experience this transformation – in conjunction with the Crystal Oil - they often experience intense dreaming for a period of time. The psyche starts to rev its engine as the opportunity for a new journey presents itself. You can learn much from your dreams, so do you pay attention to the messages they bring?

Sometimes this is a challenging journey,

but so long as you remember that this is a process and not the final picture, you can become the witness to your own metamorphosis. The richness of the dream world and the clear presence of the issues that inform your behaviour and responses are fertile ground, and real progress can now be made.

Depending on the depth of the transformational work, physical symptoms can appear. Usually these make a brief appearance and are self-righting. This is usually the case with my clients who use Crystal Healing Oils. Occasionally, something more persistent comes to the surface, and this is where the work of healers such as Jane Fini comes into its own.

Transformation

It is undoubtedly a journey of intensity for some people. For others, it is merely interesting and enjoyable as they slough away troublesome issues and move forward with ease. The purpose is to recognise that we all have something that causes us discomfort and influences our behaviour. This is an opportunity to take a look at it, and change it.

I would not be so foolish as to suggest that suddenly ‘the issue’ is no longer there, but the potency or ‘charge’ often disperses, and something new has a chance to grow in its place. Some enhance their spiritual practice. Others find their creativity takes on a new expression and ideas come flooding in. Others are so tired of being the same and feel a pressing need to grow and expand.

We all deserve to acquire the knowledge to address persistent states of mind and the unhelpful mental chatter that tells us we are not creative beings capable of change, and to instead reveal the wonder of who we are in the bright light of consciousness.

The majority of patients contact me worried about physical symptoms, and with my knowledge of what nutrition the body needs to function correctly and how to treat infection, this is my first level of investigation. My primary aim is to enable the body to put itself right – as it is constantly trying to do – by removing any barriers or blockages, and giving it the specific nutrients it needs to re-establish wellbeing.

However, I always believe that the causes of ill health can start on any frequency ie. physical, mental, emotional or spiritual levels. By using high-level homeopathy and developing the Crystal Healing Oils, with Gail, I am able to treat much more deeply on these levels, and to explore just how much these can restrict our bodies.

Personally, I have been well known amongst my family and friends for many years as hardly worth inviting out to dinner, as “there’s always something wrong with her gut – she never wants to go out.” Having explored all avenues in the biochemistry field, last year I dowsed for a Crystal Healing Oil to release any emotional or mental barriers that may be affecting this. Almost immediately, I felt more relaxed and rested, and my gut

felt less ‘neurotic’. After about 3 weeks, I was astounded to find that chickenpox had been living in the small intestine lining for 50 years and was only now (having begun to dissolve those mental and emotional barriers) accessible on the physical plane. Two weeks of herbs to kill off the infection and specific nutrients to restore the gut enzymes, and I was available for dinner!

Many times, we underestimate the complexity of our beings; we get bogged down in the daily grind or focus all our attention, hope and expectations on one ‘field’. My advice is to be brave and explore – it may give you some challenges, but the payoff is huge. Good luck.

I retrained with ICAK (International College of Applied Kinesiology) in 1995, having spent 15 years working with Fair Trade Handicrafts from Latin America. Since qualifying, I continue to train in functional biochemistry, with Chris Astill Smith as my main teacher. Dur-ing the last 10 years, I have developed techniques to investigate and treat psy-chosomatic levels using high frequency homeopathy and the Crystal Healing Oils.

Entering school as a left hander, I was ‘corrected’ to the right. As occasionally happens, stuttering and speech difficulty followed, along with maths trouble and other dyslexia symptoms. Something functional had gone haywire – nobody knew what. Here began my questions about the brain…

In my teens, utterly unprepared, I experienced a spiritual awakening, leading to turbulent years of runaway psychic abilities. Like most, I told almost no one, fearing the consequences. In these years I set what became my life’s quest: to uncover the principles so that no child, teen, or adult ever had to suffer that confusion and fear in isolation, without support or guidance.

The western sciences had nothing to say on awakenings, yet it was happening nonetheless. Where there is effect, there had to be cause. Turning my hopes eastward, I studied with Monks, Yogis, Shamans and village healers, honing abilities and learning the principles of stable transformation and spiritual growth.

In the decade I was away, neuroscience went through a revolution. The integration of traditional spiritual techniques and modern neuroscience had begun. Using 21st Century neurofeedback, the brain can be tuned up, re-calibrated and refined, using nothing more than our own natural mechanisms. We can rewire neural networks, restore balance, and clear the ground for transformation. By using the same principles as age-old methods, what took months or years could be achieved in weeks – in a stable, grounded, and quantifiable fashion.

It’s bright news for the future of humanity. I feel excited to be a part of it, helping people find themselves and shine, every day achieving my goal.

So we come to November. Time to start thinking about where you’re spending Christmas Day and your plans for the New Year. This time of year brings excitement and antici-pation. Knowledge? That’s another thing. The element of unknown at Christmas, to me, is more fun (mmm, maybe) than tearing off the wrapping paper to see what you have been given (books and socks, if I were a betting man!).

Today though, I want to talk to you about knowledge that you do have. I tried, over the past 11 months to provide you with the tools to develop your own exercise and nutritional philosophies. The idea being that taking ownership of your own health and diet will hopefully promote greater adher-ence.

The knowledge trap

All too often we fall into the trap of believing we know eve-rything we need to know to get by. We learn what we need to know to take our development just a step further, when we actually can develop ourselves two, three, four steps further.

I recently realised how important it is to revisit the previ-ously trodden path. On a trip to the States (congratulations on your wedding, Jesse and Patty) my better half and I were lucky enough to be on the guest list to use a fantastic gym for the duration of our travels. This place was, we would come to realise, the chosen workout spot for some of Holly-wood’s leading Funny People (I will let you figure it out from the capital letters).

Here is where knowledge comes in. From previous trips, I knew this place was the best gym I had ever been to, but I failed to do it justice. My partner was bowled over by the place, the staff, attention to detail, cleanliness and facilities. Despite previous trips, my memories had faded.

Our knowledge does the same thing. We cover up old ideas with new, more exciting, current ideas, and forget about those that went before. Are they any less valid? Not a chance.

They provide the foundation we build upon.

New beginnings

As a side note, I recently started a new phase of my career. The roles are reversed and I am an educator for the future personal trainers that will grace the gym-floors. A large part of my job is to deliver the anatomical and physiological knowledge that these students need, and it is a nice remind-er for me about the aforementioned already trodden path. There are things we learn and discard, either knowingly or not, but some principles stand the test of time and deserve to occasionally be re-acquired.

In our health and wellness development, I stand by the continued education theme. As I mentioned last month, I recently took part in a course that pushed the boundaries of my knowledge to a whole other level. Acquiring new skills is highly valuable. It is this knowledge that sets up our future success and achievements through ongoing evolution.

In short, hold a clear idea of where you are going but please do yourself a massive favour and don’t forget where you have been!

Time out

At this point, I urge you to revisit your knowledge; the things that you learned from these pages. Then seek the advice of a trained professional, be it myself for online training (send me an email via my website www.stugatherum.com or download a range of 3-6 month programmes at www.ArtOfPositiveLiving.com ), or a trainer closer to home (I can vouch for their education) to develop your knowledge and education in exercise.

You can and will reach your target. This is something I KNOW for sure.

Lightworker in TrainingK - Knowledge

Hetta Rogers’ background is in Art History and Literature. After spending seven years training to be and working as a lawyer, she left all that behind to go travelling, but has now returned to

the bright lights of London to work in the communications industry.

Here at Lightworker Magazine, we advocate living with an open heart: that is, opening one’s heart to live in spirit and experience the wonder and joy of life. But what about opening one’s mind? I would say that the two are inextricably linked, for when they are in tune with each other and

opened with willingness and courage, they allow us to find our greatest happiness.

This month, rather than write a discourse on the importance of knowledge and how we might go about ‘getting’ it, I want to do something a little different. So, I have taken a selection of wonderful quotations about knowledge (adding to them my own thoughts on the ‘essence’ of what knowledge is) in part to offer guidance and inspiration, but most of all to encourage an open mind.

K – KNOW YOURSELF

It may sound clichéd, but we can regard life as a series of awakenings. For those who live with their hearts and eyes wide open, this will be a journey of self-discovery: one of trial and error, challenges, happiness, joy and opportunity.

As the poet Rainer Maria Rilke put it: “The only journey is the journey within”.

As I see it, self-knowledge is made up of two fundamental pillars: recognition and acceptance. Let me explain. Having a true awareness of our ‘selves’ means recognising our abilities, strengths and weaknesses, understanding our range of emotions and tapping into our intuition or inner wisdom. But acceptance is equally important. For if we accept that the series of experiences, events, insights, lessons, challenges and stories that we call ‘life’ (and which have led us to this point) happened to make us the way we are, we can therefore accept our ‘selves’ as we are now, and at any given moment. We can surrender to the ever-changing journey.

It will come as no surprise that the internet carries a great many blogs and articles promoting self-knowledge as the ultimate link to success. But in each of them, ‘success’ is measured in financial terms. Call me cynical, but I am certain that fulfilment and contentment are far better motivations for us to want to truly know ourselves.

N – NIGHT WITHOUT MOON AND STAR

You may be familiar with the phrase “ignorance is bliss”. But is it? In certain respects, I would say absolutely not. It was Confucius who wrote: “Ignorance is the night of the mind, but a night without moon and star”. In other words, knowledge and understanding enlighten us. But he also said that real knowledge “is to know the extent of one’s own ignorance”.

In this respect, the root of truly knowing ourselves is in understanding that we have a great deal more to learn.

There is, therefore, a great disparity between not knowing and choosing not to learn. Some people may choose to be ignorant in the false belief that they have all the knowledge and understanding they need – about themselves and about the world – to live contentedly. That is their prerogative. But I believe they do themselves a disservice by closing the door to further learning.

O – OUR THINKING MIND

Knowledge is the answer to development and change within our thinking mind.

The mind is hugely powerful; we should not be afraid to use it to its fullest potential – to allow ourselves to think, explore, question and challenge, as well as to know and trust in those things in which we believe without verification.

W – WISDOM

Wisdom: how should we define it? Put simply, it is the ability to use knowledge and experience with insight; to

Lightworkermag.compage twenty seven november 2010

Page 29: Lightworker 11.10

know what to heed and what to overlook. But I much prefer Jimi Hendrix’s description - “knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens”.

L – LOVE, LIGHT AND VISION

Possessing knowledge need not be the death of wonder and belief. American author Helen Keller described knowledge as “love, light and vision” and in doing so captured the mystical essence of enlightenment.

E – EDUCATION

In his infinite wisdom, it was Oscar Wilde who wrote of education: “[It] is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.” English novelist Muriel Spark had a similar viewpoint when she wrote “To me education is a leading out of what is already there in a pupil’s soul.”

Whether intentional or not, both writers allude to the Greek philosopher Plato’s belief that what we know is not as a result of taking in information from learning or study, but an awakening or recollection of what is already there; what is inherent in the soul.

D – DARE TO READ, THINK, SPEAK AND WRITE

It was John Adams (US President from 1797-1801) who said: “Let us tenderly and kindly cherish, therefore, the means of knowledge. Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write”.

An open mind need not be passive. It can be inquisitive, discerning or even sceptical. Knowledge comes from a place of action and courage as much as it does from stillness and contemplation.

G – GROWTH

Learning can help us grow and evolve in all manner of ways, both as individuals and collectively. By growth I do not merely

mean that we improve or become ‘better’ people. Rather, growth involves a better understanding and acceptance of who we are so that we may be freed from the constraints we impose on ourselves in trying to be who we are not.

E – EXPERIENCE

The value of any experience often lies in what we learn from it; what we discover or know when we are left standing in its wake. I therefore leave you with a poem by writer Christopher Hansard called “What we are made of” (2010):

when you sit to reflect upon your circumstances

consider the nature of your lifeand what you, and we,the human impulse

are made ofwith a quiet breatha gentle intention

China

China has been a world leader and progressed much in the last century. It has led people from poverty and assisted world trade by providing the means for others to profit and grow their businesses and livelihoods. We see that China is now facing a crossroads in its history and will be faced with a choice about its future and which direction it will go in. it is faced with choosing the route of corruption and greed or to maintain its regal role model stance and become a world leader with its head held high. The choice will be that of the people and we pray that they make the choice from their hearts and souls, for this will always lead them to their highest manifestation and reality.

Holland

So near to the waters and yet so far removed from their connections with Mother Earth. The Dutch are keen to extol freedom and allowing others to follow their paths, yet they do so with such fear of recrimination and such stuttering faith in themselves and their systems of country and governance. They must see that true freedom and acceptance comes from living with love and not being beholden to their neighbours or what others are doing. They can be leaders in the region if they allow themselves to feel the freedom that they are so keen to extol.

Sample from Chapter 9

The path to the future, via the past

Once upon a time, the Earth was uninhabited. At this point, the Beings of Light formed a group to decide how best to move forwards in this paradigm. The collective agreed to incarnate as humans on the earth plane, and from here humankind was born.

Taking a snapshot of your history, you will see that great progress has been made in a relatively small space of time. From being cavemen and women, you now communicate using wireless technology. We honour your efforts and progress thus far.

The reason for this glimpse of the past is to see that the future will continue apace and in the same vein. Evolution, by necessity, is a path of destruction and construction. Old ways must be destroyed to make way for the new. This may seem alarming to those who are not tuned into the bigger picture and the universal plan, however we reassure you that all is well and all will continue to be well.

Trust is the key to this; hold firm in your belief in the path that you yourself are walking. The only person you need focus on is yourself. Concentrate on becoming a whole, light and loving human being. Follow your inner guidance and take the steps that you feel drawn to. Reticence stems from fear and mistrust of the grand plan. You are here to serve a collective purpose. In reading these words your soul knows the reason you are here and urges you to continue to fulfil its purpose, for the benefit of humankind.

The more you live in alignment with your truth and higher self, the more doors will open and your life shall become peaceful, joyful and infused with abundance. This is your divine birthright and you incarnated for this role. Somewhere along the line you forgot this truth, and we are here to remind you of its importance. These words will resonate with the core of your being, for your soul knows the accuracy of what we say.

Cast aside fears, doubts and preconceptions. Live the life you were born to live rather than the one society, familial or fear-based conditioning prescribes. These conditions are illusions; they block you from realising the true power of the loving light within your essence. By turning your head away from them, you offer yourself the opportunity to discover the marvellous wisdom and beauty of your soul. It shall guide you in every moment. You are a creator. You are here with all the resources you need for this lifetime. Step into your power and allow yourself to shine.

Many say that knowledge is power. I disagree. I believe that knowledge can be an entrepreneur’s biggest weakness. Let me explain...

You see, we live in a world full of instantaneous gratification; knowledge and information are in abundance. Did you know, apparently

contained in one single edition of the New York Times newspaper is more information than an individual would come across in their entire lifetime back in the 1800’s?

Thoughts and opinions from the most intelligent people on the planet are ‘tweeted’ and updated on Facebook for millions to see, immediately. I get frustrated if I have to wait 4 seconds for a Google landing page to open. We live in a world where information and thoughts - whatever we want to know, and whoever we want to hear it from - are available in (almost) a heartbeat.

What happens when you have too many decisions to make...? Paralysis by analysis.

The world’s first billionaire

Undoubtedly, one of the greatest books of all time, (in terms of studying successful people across the plant) was written by a man called Napoleon Hill. Back in 1908, he was commissioned by Andrew Carnegie (the world’s first billionaire) to study over 500 of the world’s most successful people. Over the next 25 years, he interviewed and studied the habits of everyone from Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Rockefeller, through to Charles Schwab and Roosevelt.

He condensed the information into a book called, “Think and Grow Rich”. Besides being a phenomenal read, jam-packed with tips, techniques and strategies to achieve what you want from life, it highlights key components of what differentiates successful people from less-successful people.

Successful vs less-successful

One of the key points Hill mentions is knowledge and decision making. You see, successful people make decisions quickly and change their mind slowly (if at all). Less successful people dither and take forever to make a decision, and when they do, they often doubt it and change their mind quickly.

Hill goes on to mention that indecision is one of the greatest deterrents of success. Lack of certainty, distrusting your intuition and seeking answers externally all cause confusion. Confusion leads to doubt and doubt leads to indecision, which ends in stagnation.

This is why I believe that knowledge can be not just an entrepreneur’s biggest weakness, but anyone’s downfall. With so much KNOWLEDGE so accessible, people can fall into the trap of seeking the ULTIMATE answer, and instead of just getting on with it and taking action, they’ll gather so much information that it halts their progress.

Pareto’s 80/20 Law

I live by Pareto’s Law, which is the 80/20 rule. Basically, 80% of your results come from 20% of the activities you undertake. The only reason Richard Branson is so successful is because he failed more times than anyone else! CEO of the 20th Century, Jack Welch is known for stating, “During my 20 years running General Electric, I made more mistakes and errors than anyone else in the US” (paraphrased).

In business, most of the things you try won’t work! Get over it. That’s why it’s so important that when you have an idea or thought, you stress test it. If it works and you get traction, keep going. If it doesn’t, scrap it.

We’ve been conditioned through schooling and life that we need to get everything right; getting it wrong means we failed. Our associations to failure are warped. Instead of using failure as lessons to grow, many of us see it as something to avoid. The latter encourages action and progress, the former

breeds indecision and stagnation.

“I don’t mind failure. I’ve always said that schoolchildren should be marked by the number of failures they’ve had.” James Dyson

What’s the answer?

So if knowledge can actually deter success, what should you focus on?

There reaches a time in a person’s life when you need to turn your knowledge into experience. Action is what makes Knowledge powerful. Without action, your knowledge will be unutilized. Nothing more than a good idea. What if you’re confused?

Another downside to knowledge is that it can make people feel inferior. They fear they don’t know enough, when in actuality, what if you already had the answers, and information was simply there to help you identify what is already within?

There’s a great interview by Steve Jobs and Bill Gates where they both talk about their success. I love when Steve said, “We were just two geeks who loved computers and it happened to be the next billion $ industry. If our industry had already peaked, we’d be dead broke at home in our garages still playing with software, because that’s it’s what we love doing.”

For me, that encapsulates success. Success comes from going within, seeking your unique talent and being bold enough to express that to the world. Let knowledge aid you in your quest, but make sure to take action and constantly clarify what that information means to you and how you can apply it.

Notice the things that make you feel inspired. Your life is a sequence of inspirational moments where your true passion is expressed. It’s your intuition’s way of helping you highlight your true calling. Notice those moments, pay attention and seek more knowledge that progresses you in that area of your life.

“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.” Steve Jobs

The Ultimate Source Of KnowledgeElizabeth Villani the author of “Awakening”, o-books, 2010. An expert on positivity, coach and

Reiki Master, a startling mystical experience in 2008 revealed to her the reality of humanity. She now writes to support our awakening. She is also the founder of www.fundsforjoy.com a

non-profit organisation aiming to bring joy to every corner of the globe.

I grew up, just like you, encouraged to approach life from the perspective that ‘knowing’ loads of stuff makes you clever. That if you can remember facts and figures and pass exams then you have what it takes to be a success in life.

When you die and leave your body, do you think that your guides and soul group will ask you what grade

you got in your maths exam aged 16? Or what Mensa score you achieved? Or how much human history you can account for? Do you think that you will find yourself having to recount every nugget of knowledge that you gathered during this life to place on the scales of life success?

The truth of your life here reveals that the way we were brought up to believe that the gathering of knowledge is at the centre of our success, is upside down. Or at least inside out. The theory that gathering success and knowledge from what is around us actually means very little in the greatness of our soul existing here.

In 2008, I was shown a mystical vision of what all of ‘this’, ‘this life’ is about. I had a divine calling. I was given the most precious knowledge. I was shown that we all come here to learn and experience the very best of who we are. We live lives again and again until we do. Our mission is to be ourselves, centred in love and experience, and give that love to ourselves and others. The knowledge of how to do that lies within each of us. Within each of us we know what to do and how to do it, and once we go within to retrieve it we open up a world of power. We connect to the greatest source of power that ever existed – because it is all that is. It is oneness and you, like me, are an amazing and powerful part of it.

Our inner compass

And yet we spend our lives not following our intuition and going against our own inner grain to please others and

conform to what society and those around us think that we should be.

Our instinct might tell us that the person in front of us would be helpful to our success, but our own insecurity stops us from speaking to them. We might feel guilty for not spending enough time on a task or with a fellow soul, and yet we do nothing to change this. We have a headache and feel stressed and yet we do nothing concrete to slow ourselves down and restore harmony in our bodies.

All of these things and millions more are gifts that show us direction. Your body is an instrument of knowledge. It is fine tuned to tell you when things aren’t right. Yet do you listen to it? Your instincts and inner impulses are perfect. They are there to bring you into greatness within the divine plan. Do you follow them? The people sent to you in your life and the circumstances of your outward life are all in sync with bringing you into perfect configuration with who you are meant to be. Are you listening to them?

Once you start to look within for knowledge and trust the sometimes simple reactions in your energy and body, you begin to connect with the ultimate in knowledge – you. Not only this but your soul group and guides can connect with you. You open up a channel of communication that acts as a guide to bringing together the divine plan, your divine plan. Francis Bacon said, “Knowledge is power”. Imagine for a second that you were holding the keys to everything that your heart desires; love; acceptance; abundance; joy; peace. Imagine that you have in your own hands all the answers to what will make you and others happy in this life with you here.

Now imagine that those keys are real, that they live inside your heart, that they are your soul. Would you not want to know what the answers were? Would you not want to use them to open the doors to a life of creation, happiness and love so that when you die you can present to yourself at your life review one brimming with success?

Page 35: Lightworker 11.10

Neale Donald Walsh said, “Go within or you will go without”. You know that this is true. You know that happiness comes from the inside out, and yet even the most spiritual of us still have a part of us that searches for acceptance through the gathering of knowledge and certificates. You are a vehicle of power. You don’t need any more teaching than that that is within you.

So how do we tap into this ultimate source of knowledge and harness its power?

We have to trust our instincts and make adjustments in our lives to restore balance to our bodies and emotions. It’s simple really. Let go of worrying what others think of us and have the courage to follow what feels right. Once balance is restored, take it to another level and listen deeper by sitting in silence and inviting grace, guides, your higher self, angels, your soul group, or whatever label you want to call it to come and communicate with you and through you. Then follow what comes.

Spend time with yourself. Move away from distracting yourself with TV and busyness and enjoy simply spending time with you. Be strong and peel away the layers of conditioning, the masks and the ‘should’s’ of those around you, and go within.

When was the last time that you sat in stillness and silent contemplation, disengaging your thoughts and listening to your own truths? Do you act on your impulses? Do you trust your vibes?

Every time that you are unsure of a way forward, go within. Sit in silence for a few minutes and let the answer come. Relax. Know that the answer will unfold. Trust that when you step out of your head and externalising that you will meet serendipity. When we surrender to what is and face it full on,

no matter what the moment is bringing, we surrender. We surrender to our own inner knowledge and the divine plan can begin to unfold within us. We hear intuitive ideas and we gently act upon them. We connect to the oneness and let the greater knowledge work through us.

They say that knowledge is power. They say that education is the key to success. But what is it that is so important to know? What is that knowledge? Is it understanding quantum physics? Reciting the complete works of Shakespeare? Recalling every major historical event that has formed our world as we know

it? Of course these things are important because they forged the very fabric of our world, but is this really where the power truly is for us? Or is knowledge of ourselves, of who we really are, truly the most powerful thing we can educate ourselves with?

Not so long ago I came across a very evocative phrase: “When you come to the edge of all that you know, you must believe in one of two things: that there will be ground for you to stand on, or that you will be given wings to fly.” To me, this is the essence of true knowing.

Let me explain why…

Everyone faces challenges in life. No single person will be charmed from start to finish because there are too many other people bouncing around in their own little bubbles, and they will bump into you at some point or another, no matter who you are, where you’re from and what you do. But when you’re faced with a crisis, when you’re faced with pain, fear, sadness, and you can’t articulate how far down into your very fibres the feeling seems to cut, you can feel so very alone, no matter how many people are around you. It’s at these moments that no amount of history, no amount of science, no words of Shakespeare can really say it just the way you’re feeling it, because you’re unique; your journey is so different. And it’s at these points that you realise how truly powerful you are. Marianne Williamson articulated it beautifully in her most well known of poems:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves ‘who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be?”

And this is where our light truly shines, where we look inside because there is nothing outside for us that holds the answers. And we start to understand, we start to ‘know’ who we are, what we stand for, why we are here, and what we really want. Each one of us has a right - by the very nature of our being - to make the best of ourselves and to live our lives to the fullest, but so few of us afford ourselves with the opportunity to really look inside and know how we are going to do this. So few of us look inside and really know who we are.

Glowing

Does it really need to take those moments of utter darkness in order for us to look far enough inside and find that little spark, that tiniest flash of light that we recognise as being the absolute truest knowing of ourselves, the very core beliefs that make us tick, that forge the absolute essence of who we are when everything else, everyone else, is stripped away? Sometimes I think yes, and sometimes I believe it’s a necessary evil because that light, once ignited, burns so brightly that it can illuminate the whole world.

Allow this fire to consume you, because it will light the corridor of opportunity. We’ve all heard the expression “smile and the world smiles with you”, and it’s true. When we shine we exude happiness, and that feeling comes from the absolute faith and understanding of who we are. It’s about knowing that if all else was lost, no matter what any other person in the world could do or say to you, you still have the control, knowledge and faith in who you are at your very core; at the very part of you that no one else can ever touch.

And this knowledge is the greatest power we can truly hold. But how, I hear you ask? Just because you are knowledgeable about who you are, it doesn’t necessarily mean anything when it comes to everyday life or survival. We still need to understand maths, science, literature and language, because that is what the world is driven by. It’s how it functions. Ah, but here we go back to that wonderful phrase. When there is nothing else out there for you, when you really are at the edge of all that you know, it will be that trust, that belief, that faith in who you are that gives you the ground to walk on or the wings to fly. Because there is nothing else but the here and now, and if you don’t seize it right this second - if you don’t look around, look inside and see life through these new eyes of perception - these moments, no matter how glorious or gory, will be lost forever, and you will never be afforded the opportunity to make a different choice again.

You can choose to face your challenges and know that you will overcome them, that you can lose everything else, but still know who you are; you can still have that dream, and no matter how outlandish it may seem, have that faith in your ability to make it a reality. Just remember how recently it was in our history that we believed the world was flat and that if we were meant to fly we’d have been born with wings. Someone knew... not only that it was possible, but that they could make it happen. Be that someone.

Writing an article on knowledge is potentially a difficult task. It makes you question what you know, and even what qualifies the author to write knowingly.

You have to ask yourself questions like, who is doing the knowing? And how do you know that you know? For

example, you may think you know what is true and right in your head but your gut might tell you it’s wrong. Your heart may not be in it and there may a whisper of doubt sneaking into the back of your mind.

This train of thought also brings into question where the knowing sits. Is it in our cognitive centres, in the very water of our cellular structures, or somewhere even more ethereal?

What makes the whole subject even more difficult still is that ‘we know’ there are degrees of knowingness. During the Iraqi conflict, Donald Rumsfeld - the then US Defense Secretary - was caught prevaricating because there were things he knew that he preferred not to share with others. Nonetheless, inadvertently he gave us a really useful framework for understanding the modern world in his infamous “known knowns” speech.

There’s obviously the stuff we know we know – the Known Knowns – at least that is until we find out that whatever we thought we knew, we didn’t know that well after all. I get the Word of the Day from Dictionary.com every day and keep finding words I thought I knew the meaning of actually mean something else.

There’s stuff we know we don’t know – the Known Unknowns – like where we really came from, why we are self-aware and why toast always seems to fall butter side down.

There’s a weird category of things we know but didn’t know we knew – the Unknown Knowns – like someone really likes you, but you are just not quite fully aware of it yet.

Finally, there are the Unknown Unknowns, and these manifest as Fears of the Unknown. They are the demons that stop us in our tracks. If we don’t stick our heads above the parapet to have a look, we can’t be harmed.

If this isn’t challenging enough, what you think you know can get turned on its head in an instant. The ancients knew the Earth was round but in the Dark Ages we were taught it was flat. We now know it’s round, yet everyone uses a map that is flat.

Knowing is altered by perspective. For example, if you add another dimension to the mix, literally, what is curved space and surfaces in a 3-D universe are flat sheets in 4-D. We can see in a 2-D Flatland that the ‘flat people’ could jump up. If they did this, to another ‘Flatander’, they would disappear.

So stating we absolutely know something to be true is inadvisable. All we can ever know is that we don’t know everything. Furthermore, as soon as we know something, there is inevitably something else to learn.

Claircogniscence

Traditionally, knowledge is a left-brained activity based on the output from the Scientific Method, which runs like this:

know:sourceMoments Of Light:

KnowledgeTom Evans is an author and wizard of light bulb moments. His new book on the subject is

available from O-books early in 2011. He has just published his latest work on the nature of consciousness called Flavours of Thought: Recipes for Fresh Thinking.

Page 39: Lightworker 11.10

a) Observe somethingb) Make a prediction based upon what is observedc) Observe or measure something else against the new predictiond) Make it into a Law - like the Laws of Gravity or Thermodynamics

This is fine, until the Laws break down.

A more intuitive basis to work on is tuning into our innate claircogniscence. This a ‘knowing’ version of clairvoyance, clairaudience or clairsentience. The source of the knowing can be from any of our chakra points - normally gut, heart, 3rd eye or crown, but also the alpha and omega chakras outside our bodies.

Incidentally, don’t ask me how I know all of this. I just do, and I have complete faith that what I am imparting here is knowledge that will appeal to readers of the resulting article.

Claircogniscence is more than just knowing; it’s also an inner sense that it’s OK to know in itself, and there is no need to share or even prove what you know. In healing and therapy, it is the most useful tool, as you can instantly get a sense of issues and how to treat them.

It’s also a vital part of the creative process. You just know that what you are writing, painting or composing is perfect. You are connected both with your Muse and your audience. You are in flow - and you Know It. It is the progenitor of the most desirable output for the search for knowledge, that of gnosis.

Gnosis

Gnosis is the result of unquestioned claircogniscence and requires no qualification - it just is. The best examples end up being koans, aphorisms or maxims.

These are stories, questions or statements, the meaning of which is not best understood by the application rational thinking but may be accessible through intuition. They just feel right.

Examples range from a Zen Koan that gives us a Known Unknown by asking an incisive question like:

“What is your face before your mother and father were born?”

To one of Hippocrates’ sublime aphorisms that, on first hearing, begets the Unknown Known:

“Life is short, and Art long; the crisis fleeting; experience perilous, and decision difficult.”

And even to the pithy and witty Known Known maxims that are the stuff of urban myths such as:

“In an autocracy, one person has his way; in an aristocracy, a few people have their way; in a democracy, no one has his way.”

These kind of statements are just right; we feel it in our water. They are incontestable and don’t lend themselves to analysis, unless you are feeling particularly fastidious.

But true gnosis more traditionally applies to a spiritual knowing.

What’s important here is that gnosis is something that is personal. For example, it’s said that there are 33 paths of spiritual awakening. Now I don’t know if it’s true that there are 33, there could be more or less. What I do know is that as soon as the path or the type of awakening is defined and proclaimed to be ‘The Way’, we slip from gnosis to dogma. All I know for sure is that the path and way that I am following seems to be working for me, but that I can’t wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone else.

Once you assume a dogmatic position, the acquisition of new knowledge becomes difficult and we are closed off from the next level of awakening.

I’ll leave you with one of my favourite ‘knowings’ from the mind that was Chief Seattle -

“This we know. Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself. Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the sons and daughters of the earth. All things are connected. This we know.”

Once Upon a Time....Ten Steps To Health And WellbeingBy Louise Claire-Pardoe & Jason Paul Claire

Lightworkermag.compage forty one november 2010

Peace, health, wellbeing, serenity, calm – beautiful words and equally beautiful states of being. Yet how many of us can actually say that we are wholly in this space on a daily basis? What is it that blocks our way to this place?

Stop people in the street to ask this question, and familiar answers sail across the airwaves: pressure of work, toxic relationships, worry about the family, money, to name but a few. And yes, these are very real issues that affect countless thousands; but how do some people appear to cope with the hand that life deals them in a serene and flowing way, and others fare less well?

Have any of you reading this article ever experienced that moment of total bliss, connectedness and peace? That moment between sleeping and waking where you are totally unaware of who you are and what your name is? A place of infinite potential, limitless possibility – your natural state. Slowly, that blissful feeling fades and ‘reality’ begins to filter through this perfect, timeless space, and you remember… who you are, what you have to do in your day. Past experiences, future worries, all begin to rain down around you, hemming you in like bars of an imaginary prison.

Perhaps in your mind you know the technicalities of how to reach that space of total connectedness; but it is probable that this knowing hasn’t yet filtered into your heart and every fibre of your being so that every part of you IS peace, wellbeing and calm. The people who are better equipped to cope with what life throws their way feel, taste, smell, see and ARE their natural state.

Flowing with the river of life, simply experiencing without worrying about the outcome; in the same way as a droplet of water flowing in a river may become a cloud, or a rock pool, or part of the ocean. Never resisting, always flowing. Yet in our modern day society, a road map would be helpful to guide us back to our natural state of peace, health and wellbeing.

Taking time to talk to Lightworker Magazine about their first book ‘The Serenity Code’, Louise Claire-Pardoe and Jason Paul Claire highlight the key stepping-stones that they personally discovered on their own healing journeys, helping them to reclaim peace and wellbeing within their daily lives.

Twenty years ago, Louise contracted a life-threatening virus that attacked her heart; flat-lining on numerous occasions as doctors tried desperately to save her. It was touch and go whether she would survive, yet through fantastic medical care and sheer determination she pulled through, only to suffer complications several years later which would see her plunge into deep depression and suffer from agoraphobia, leading her to eventually quit her job as a Careers Consultant.

Jason too suffered from severe anxiety and depression as a result of workplace bullying and a lifetime of bullying incidents, leading him to review his own life.

From their lowest points, Louise and Jason had two choices: to give up, or to fight back.

Louise and Jason are Directors of DiscoverSerenity Holistic Solutions running regular personal development work-shops and one-to-one coaching sessions with clients inspiring them to transform their lives.

They chose to fight and heal, physically and emotionally taking them on a decade-long journey of recovery. Now, they are directors of their own successful holistic therapy and training business, inspiring others to rediscover their own innate ability to heal and bring peace into their daily lives, just as they did. Here they share the ten steps that supported them in creating fundamental changes within their world:

1. Tell your storyThe first step on any healing journey is to allow your story to be told. What makes you, you? Through owning your experiences, you can really start to heal. Remember that your biography need not mean your destiny; with a change of perspective, your biography can truly help you heal.

2. ChoicesEvery day we make choices that affect our health and wellbeing. Making a choice out of love (positive) rather than fear (negative) ensures that the body’s chemistry remains balanced and healthy. In any given moment, we always have a choice how to react i.e., do we choose to feel happy, or do we choose instead to feel angry or sad?

3. MindfulnessMany of the choices that we make come directly from the subconscious; programmed by our cultural references, beliefs and experiences. Start to become mindful of your own thoughts and those external influences that affect you in positive or negative ways.

4. Limiting beliefsPerhaps you continually criticise

yourself and believe your ‘put-downs’? If you take just one lesson away from this article, you need to know - right now - that THE LIMITING BELIEFS YOU HOLD ABOUT YOURSELF ARE NOT TRUE! Why not, today, try complimenting yourself? Over time you will replace outdated beliefs with new ones that will support and nurture you.

5. Energy medicineYour thoughts change your brain and affect the chemistry within your body on a second-by-second basis. As a result, your energetic frequency attracts towards it circumstances and people who resonate. Instead of manifesting anxiety, stress or negative emotions, why not try focusing your attention on what makes you happy?

6. Natural instinctYour instinct is real and guides you safely through life, so listen to it and allow it to guide you exactly where you need to be.

7. Listen to your bodyYour body is always talking to you; listen in and take action to support your journey to wellbeing by tuning into your heart and running choices through it. If the body is ignored, it will shout louder and louder until you take notice. Jason stayed in a job that put his body under huge amounts of stress, until in the end he experienced a nervous breakdown and was forced to leave it.

8. Acceptance, gratitude and letting goIntroduce acceptance and gratitude into your daily experience, committing to let go of anything that you cannot influence or change. By doing this you

take the pressure off yourself, and become free.

9. Everything is perfectWe can never know what the ‘bigger picture’ is, so release any expectations about the outcome of events. The universe paints a better picture of our world than we ever could.

10. Clearing the Body PhysicallyIdentify activities that make your ‘heart sing’, i.e. exercising, spending time in nature, healthy eating, watching a good comedy etc. Also, try to get plenty of rest and sleep.

And finally, be patient with yourself. Any spiritual journey takes time and practice, but a shift of perspective can be just what is required to paint a different picture for your life and rediscover exactly what you were never disconnected from – your natural state of health and wellbeing!

Reader question – Mars

How can I understand and make the most of Mars in my chart?

Mars is the Warrior and rules Aries and Scorpio. It is a dynamic force often depicted as masculine, although women have all these qualities too. It is the masculine principle in ourselves and partners with Venus, creating divine polarity.

As with all the planets, there is a constructive and destructive side to the energies of Mars. On the plus side, we have the energy, passion and drive necessary to activate projects and relationships. On the flip side, we can experience Mars through misplaced egotism, frustration and anger.

Finding the sign and placement of Mars in your chart can help you to understand your motivations, redeploy your ego, and create more harmony in your interactions.

Mars takes 2 years to travel around the Zodiac, and on every transit it will trigger a new personal energy cycle for you when it makes contact with Mars in your chart. This can be calculated to the day, and is useful for initiating big projects or making brave changes.

Working with the aspects or angles that Mars makes to the other planets in your chart can show you where effortless gains can be made, as well as how raw nerves can be soothed.

Mars in a chart can show how we express passion and what turns us on.Mars in a woman’s chart can also represent the strong male influences in her life and the type of men she will find attractive or attract.

Fiery stuff indeed!

I will be explaining more about Mars in your birth chart in November’s Astro Lesson on my Radio Lightworker show ‘Stars and Planets’ at the end of the month.

aCANCER

The New Moon in Scorpio on the 6th highlights love and creativity in your chart. Being creative is something that we can do for pure pleasure’s sake. Nurturing a talent or building a dream helps us to find our centre and make contact with the part of us that is divinely free. You need not operate alone though as partner projects are uplifting and create beautiful bonds with times shared and memories born. Express yourself from the soul and your world becomes a better place.

bLEO

Roaring or purring, this is a busy month both for career and relationships. Neptune and Chiron in your seventh house of partners is showing you where you most need to make fundamental changes to move from any fear-based to love-based modes of living. With a little humility this is easily done, by gently questioning your motives and actions daily. The Full Moon on the 21st is shining strongly in your career sector where you might just win the gold.

cVIRGO

There is a wide landscape in front of you. The door is unlocked and open. Your communication and mental clarity are strong and true, so what’s stopping you? As Jupiter turns direct and the Full moon illuminates your house of adventure, it’s time to pack your bags and say your goodbyes. Your travels may be on a consciousness level, adventures locally, or flying off to explore the world. The distance does not matter as long as you are excited about making the trip.

dLIBRA

If you got singed last month, there is plenty of time to seek comfort in the more gentle Libran pursuits of singing, dancing and general creativity. Venus retrograde calls us to reflect on the way we are in relationships and examine our actions and expectations. November is a reflective month where feeling deeply and a little soul searching will go a long way to creating a more harmonious future.

eSCORPIO

The spotlight is on you. Did you figure out the real meaning of October’s challenges? If so, you can bask in the praise of your admiring audience. If not, you may be feeling the heat. With the Sun, Moon and for a short while Venus and Mercury all in the house of ‘you’, whatever you created last month will be how you are seen in November. This is good news. Digging deep and finding the answers is home ground for Scorpio. It’s time to discover the mysteries of you.

fSAGITTARIUS

A very active month with the promise of internal and external rewards for a job well done. As Mars races through your sign it activates a whole new 2 year energy cycle for all those with Sagittarius Sun or Rising sign. You will start to see the bigger potential of a current idea and synchronicity will keep opening doors throughout the winter. All you need do is keep your eyes and options open, especially after 20th when your ruling planet Jupiter turns direct and regains his powers.

gCAPRICORN

Some big ideas and great works are possible this month. Probable even. Pluto and the North Node meet in Capricorn in a very rare conjunction representing your Transformation and Life Purpose. Certainly no time for procrastination. Summon up all that Capricorn determination and really get involved. This energy will begin to fade by December and you will not see anything like this again. Carpe Diem.

hAQUARIUS

You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. As Venus retreats into Libra and Mars strides through Sagittarius, the male-female divide that occurred in Scorpio early October will either dissipate or be exaggerated. A lot depends on your approach. Stay true to your inner gentle knowing without the need to prove yourself or battle it out and, in the long run, you will emerge not only victorious, but also proud of yourself. Chiron and Neptune send healing to your gentle soul.

iPISCES

You are expanding so much and so quickly that at times you may feel ready to burst! Mars activated Jupiter and Uranus in your sign at the recent Full Moon, heralding the beginning of a whole new journey. Take as much time out as you can to let information and revelations sink in to the deepest level. This is a time to be still and receive. Messages arrive in strange and varied ways. The last week of November is when the action begins.

^ARIES

If you are feeling Aries overload from the last Full Moon, try and find a Cancerian to talk with, especially those born in the last week of June. This energy holds the answer for you in the next phase of your development. Alternatively, watching and learning from any Dalai Lama-type messengers will cool you down and raise compassion. There is an alchemical blend to be discovered here, which will show you how to flow with less effort and more gain. You can’t fight fire with fire.

_TAURUS

Scorpio is such a powerful time for you and this month looks like no exception. Make time for pleasure as well as work, otherwise you may get to the Full Moon in Taurus on the 21st and realise that you have hurt those around you through neglect. Try and make friends with Time instead of chasing it, wasting it or spending it. Efficient work systems will mean that you can afford to show love to those you love in person rather than by text. You may even get more done in the process.

`GEMINI

With so much planetary energy in your sixth house of work, it looks like you will be burning the candle at all ends. With Mercury, your ruling planet, moving from Scorpio into Sagittarius, thoughts and conversations turn to a deeper level and a few recent mysteries may be solved. A plan seems to be forming in your mind that involves a way to use all your talents and create something special; something uniquely you. After a year of scattered energies, the time to consolidate and build a strong future has finally arrived.

Scorpio Climate

Lights, Camera, Action!

Chiron, Neptune, Venus, Jupiter and all turn on the power this month.

Neptune, preparing to leave Aquarius and enter her home sign of Pisces next Spring, is tidying up loose ends, and in partnership with Chiron, tuning us to the right frequencies to receive and download vital Aquarius wisdom before she goes.

Venus turns direct on the same day as Jupiter – the 20th November – one day before the Full Moon. This is beautiful. Progressive and optimistic, we should feel a return to confidence at this time and, as the Full Moon is all about reflection and gratitude, heartfelt enthusiasm abounds.

Mars and Mercury jostle for position in Sagittarius with playful spirit and bold feats of daring and prowess.

A bold month to journey forth into territory unknown. Pack light and expect the best.

New Moon – 6th November - 13 degrees Scorpio

Venus and Mercury bridge the Sun and Moon together in Scorpio in the first house of Self. Any residual alpha-male energy left over from the previous Aries Full Moon will now be revealed and hopefully purged. This activity represents our inner fire and whether it is used to warm or burn. The New Moon may show us that the buttons being pressed represent an opportunity to recognise the little self at work and rise above, phoenix-like, from the flames.

Full Moon - 21st November – 29 degrees Taurus

Stability after radical change. Steady Taurus brings strength of character and the desire to rebuild on solid ground. Our nesting instincts will be strong as we head towards the winter. Love and hope fuel our inner sun which radiates through the darkness. Activities which ground us bring the comfort and support needed to prepare for Solstice eclipse next month.

People Always Know What Is Best For Us

Avoid RheumatismA centipede decided to ask the forest’s wise man - the monkey - what the best medication would be for the ache in his legs.

“That’s rheumatism,” said the monkey. “You have way too many legs. You should be like me; have only two; rheumatism rarely appears.”

“And what do I do to have only two legs?”

“Don’t bother me with details,” answered the monkey. “A wise man only gives the best advice; you solve your problem.”

Can I Help?As soon as he opened the church, a priest saw a woman come in, sit in the front pew and place her head between her hands. Two hours later, he noticed that the woman was still there, in the same position.

Concerned, he decided to approach her.

“Can I do anything for you?” he asked.

“No, thanks,” she answered. “I was already getting all the help I needed when you interrupted me.”

Jesuit Anthony Mello says, “In a monastery the words ‘Don’t Speak’ are not written. It is written, however, ‘Speak only if you can improve silence.’”

I Know What is RightA peasant was returning home when he saw a donkey in the field.

“I’m not just any donkey,” said the animal. “I saw the messiah being born. I’ve lived for two thousand years and I am alive to give this testimony.”

Alarmed, the peasant ran to the church and told it to the parish priest. “Impossible,” he said. The peasant took the priest by the hand and took him where the donkey was. The animal repeated everything it had said.

“I’ll say it again: animals don’t speak,” said the priest.

“But you heard it!” the peasant insisted.

“How foolish you are! You’d rather believe in an ass than in a priest!”

That Will Work for Us as WellA tale by the Lebanese writer Mikail Naaimé can illustrate the danger of following other’s methods, as noble as they may seem.

“We need to free ourselves from the slavery in which mankind keeps us,” an ox said to its companions. “For years we hear human beings saying that the door to freedom is stained with the blood of the martyrs. We will find it and will get in there with the power of four horns.”

They walked for days and nights through the road until they saw a door stained with blood.

“Here is the door to freedom,” they said. “We know our brothers were sacrificed in there.”

One by one, the oxen began to enter. And only inside, when it was way too late, did they realized that it was the door to the slaughterhouse.

Deciding on the Destinies of OthersMalba Tahan tells the story of a man who met an angel in the desert and gave him water.

“I am the angel of death and I came to get you,” said the angel. “But as you were kind, I will lend you the Book of Destiny for five minutes; you may change what you want.”

The angel gave the man the book. As he was leafing through its pages, the man began reading about the lives of his neighbors. And he got discontented,

“These people don’t deserve such nice things,” he said. With the pen in hand, he began worsening the lives of each one.

Finally, he reached the page of his destiny. He saw his tragic end, but as he prepared to change it, the book disappeared. Five minutes had already passed.

And right there, the angel took the man’s soul.

Focus the Light

Honour

“You cannot believe in honour until you have achieved it, better keep yourself clean and bright; you are the

window through which you must see the world”

Honour is an interesting word in particular. Not least so because the concept of Honour appears

to have declined in importance in the modern secular Western World. Words are, after all, only as

valuable or meaningful as our current educated understanding and concept of them permits. With

over 14 different definitions in many dictionaries, Honour, a tiny two-syllable word, carries a lot of

weight. Honour, in its roots, means “good name or public esteem” and is a Middle English word, dating

back to the 13th Century. It is derived from the Old French that in turn comes from the Latin “honos”

or “Honor.” Another definition refers to “reputation” or “recognition” and means “a showing of usually

merited respect”, as in “pay Honour to our founder”. Synonyms include not only honesty and probity,

but integrity as well as homage and reverence.

As one FtL group member beautifully put it…

Honour is the foundation and structure of our soulful presence on earth. We must search for the Honour

in our souls and walk a path of it throughout our earthly presence.

To be truthful to your Honour you must sacrifice pride and dignity. Honour will help the fallen man in

the street, or give the pregnant woman the bus seat.

Your Honour can be seen as an aura, energy, or simply a presence - but those with Honour walk strong

and tall even through defeat and humiliation.

We will constantly be up against hurdles in our life and choices without Honour and consequence are the

simple ones. To stand by a conviction is an honourable undertaking, and choices made with strength

often take many years of patience and struggle, but ultimately the honourable decision will drive you

through life with a stronger force. The honourable man/woman walks taller inside, and has stringent

convictions about what is inherently right and how to treat fellow beings.

On the face of it, it seems the concept of Honour has much to do with one’s perception of moralistic

attitudes in the life that they, and others, lead. Although it is true that there may be differing perceptions

across an array of individuals, when we are still, looking inward, and perhaps free from all imposed

moral concepts of the conditioned mind, an underlying current of universal truth and oneness does

appear to pervade. In this respect, Honour is as real to the human condition as love. This is when this

word, ‘Honour’, the sentiment and vibration behind it, can perhaps be fully realised and implemented

as a consistent and constant guiding light of intention within our true state of being.

Inspire

Beginning with Life on Earth in 1979, Sir David Attenborough set about creating a body of work that became a benchmark of quality in wildlife film-making and influenced a generation of documentary film-makers. He inspired many thousands of people to commit to environmentalism and taking care of the world – both flora and fauna – using his work to share knowl-edge on the basis that “People are not going to care about animal conservation unless they think that animals are worthwhile.”

Challenge

Sir David appreciates his influence upon politics and the world beyond the natural environment, believing “You can only get really unpopular decisions through if the electorate is convinced of the value of the environment. That’s what natural history pro-grammes should be for.” In this way, he challenges moral and social conventions, and pushed the broadcasting boundaries, especially early in his career.

Educate

Rarely are there people in the public eye who dedicate their whole lives to educating others about the wonders of nature, yet Sir David is a broadcaster and naturalist who has done just that. His career as the respected face and voice of natural his-tory programmes has endured for more than 50 years. He did so because of his fervent belief that “the natural world is the great-est source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.”
