RT-qPCR targeting human GAPDH was performed using the Luna Universal One-Step

RT-qPCR Kit over an 8-log range of input template concentrations (1 μg – 0.1 pg Jurkat

total RNA) with 8 replicates at each concentration. Reaction setup and cycling conditions

followed recommended protocols, including a 10-minute RT step at 55°C for the thermostable

DNA Blood Kit

step system. Designed for in

vitro diagnostic use, the new

kit is sold in a ready-to-use

format, and enables users to

stabilize and extract nucleic

acid from fresh or frozen

whole-blood samples without

the need for prior sample preparation steps. This kit is also suitable

for specimens that have been stored in ethylenediaminetetraacetic

acid (EDTA) and heparin-containing solutions. It is nonhazardous, and

ships and stores at room temperature for ease of handling. Designed

with point-of-care in vitro diagnostics in mind, DNA extracted using the

kit is also suitable for use in PCR or other applications. Where access

to instrumentation required for traditional extraction methods is not

practical, its practicality and ability to be shipped and stored at ambient

temperatures has big upsides for users in emerging markets.

Universal CentrifugesThe UniCen M and UniCen MR centrifuges from Herolab are the

controlled models have been especially designed for tubes, bottles,
