Lighting for Educational ApplicationsCOURSE FEE: $350 FEB 9-10
This two-day class will look at the latest IES requirements for classrooms, laboratories, corridors, lobbies gymnasiums, and back-of-house areas. There will also be discussions on outdoor applications for safety and security. This application based class will cover the latest lighting technologies as well as legacy sources, and integration of controls. CEUs will be available for attendees.
Retrofit/Create Change WorkshopCOURSE FEE: $350 FEB 11-12, JUL 19-20
This two- day class will help attendees understand when to convert from legacy technology to LEDs. A hands-on workshop will simulate a building audit and show the impact that controls, maintenance, and rebates can have on ROI (Return On Investment). Opportunities for future retrofits and forward compatibility will be explored. CEUs will be available for attendees.
LitePro DLX WorkshopCOURSE FEE: $200
MAR 10-11, MAY 12-13, AUG 18-19, Nov 10-11
This fast-paced workshop is intended for application engineers and specialists or sales representatives who prepare design calculations and specifiers who evaluate lighting designs. Participants will experience first-hand that with the LitePro DLX software you are able to design lighting which is not restricted by the boundaries between rooms and spaces. In this course you will learn how to deal with architecture as a whole - starting with a rectangular room, moving on to planning a complete floor and then a whole building and its surroundings. Attendees will learn to create light scenes with dimming levels and changing colors and produce professional documentation with explicit calculations and photorealistic images. The modular structure of the seminar allows you to work individually on a practical task according to your own present level of knowledge. *Participants should plan to bring their own laptop if possible. LitePro DLX software will be provided.

Fundamentals of LightingCOURSE FEE: $500 MAR 15-17, JUN 8-10, SEPT 13-15, DEC 7-9
Designed for professionals new to the lighting industry or seasoned professionals looking for a refresher, this three-day workshop focuses on the fundamental principles of lighting and introduces today’s latest advancements in lighting technology. Through hands-on training and real-world applications, we take an interactive approach to educating our participants in general lighting terminology, lamps and ballasts, solid-state lighting technology, light, vision, and color, optical control, and basic application principles.
Basics of Lighting ControlsCOURSE FEE: $200 MAR18, SEP 16
This one day course is focused on the basics of lighting controls. Through this program participants will gain an understanding of various control solutions including motion sensing, daylight harvesting, panelbased lighting control systems, and wireless lighting control systems. In addition, participants will also be exposed to the current legislation and building codes, such as ASHRAE, IECC, and California’s Title 24, that are changing the controls landscape. At the end of this course participants should be able to identify opportunities in various applications for a lighting control system, specify the control requirements based on the lighting fixture criteria, and recommend an appropriate solution based on the application requirements.
LEDs & Emerging TechnologiesCOURSE FEE: $350 APRIL 5-6, NOV 1-2
This 2-day course will discuss the ever-increasing LED market and the speed at which LEDs are quickly being integrated into lighting applications. Participants will gain a basic understanding of how LED components are integrated into lighting fixtures and how well LEDs perform in particular lighting applications. Additional discussion includes newer technologies just emerging such as OLEDs, solar and wind technologies, and various other technologies that could impact the lighting industry in measurable ways. Participants will also take part in a mini-workshop, designing and building LED fixtures.
Lighting Solutions & Applications WorkshopCOURSE FEE: $200 MAY 10-11, OCT 27-28
This fast paced product solutions workshop is for the experienced lighting professional and those new to the industry. During this two-day, hands-on and application-based workshop participants will gain additional insight into Hubbell Lighting’s portfolio of commercial and industrial product solutions for interior and exterior applications.
Lighting for Commercial ApplicationsCOURSE FEE: $350 APR 7-8, OCT 6-7
This two day class will look at the latest IES requirements for commercial applications in both indoor and outdoor environments . Potential topics will include office buildings, education facilities, retail and hospitality. This application based class will cover the latest lighting technologies as well as legacy sources and integration of controls. Course will feature site visits and evaluations. CEUs will be available for attendees.
Lighting for Healthcare ApplicationsCOURSE FEE: $350 MAY 24-25, SEP 29-30
Lighting for Healthcare Applications is a two- day interactive class that addresses integrated lighting needs for the patient, guests, and employees in a healthcare setting. Attendees will learn about the psychology of light, and lighting for various applications. There will also be discussions on current lighting research, circadian rhythm, vision, color, and special applications.
Lighting for Industrial ApplicationsCOURSE FEE: $200 NOV 15-16
According to Department of Energy studies, industrial spaces consume nearly one-third of all energy used in the U.S. Estimates show that lighting in these industrial spaces to be of significant age, many 20 years or older. As upgrades are considered, lighting offers the fastest internal rate of return with the lowest investment. This course will explore the best lighting solutions for new and existing spaces. Participants will explore existing and emerging lamp technologies to understand the best approach to take for industrial applications. Further discussion will include lighting audits, incentives, economics, current legislation, and future innovation. This course is ideal for facilities managers, facilities owners, industrial consultants, energy service providers, engineers and all other industry consultants.

Our Staff

Anne joined Hubbell Lighting full time in 2013 after completing Hubbell Lighting’s highly
regarded college internship program. She began her Hubbell career as product design engineer for their Hubbell
Outdoor and Spaulding brands and quickly garnered attention for her accomplishments and dedication. She joined the
LSC staff in March of 2015.
In the LSC, Anne has expertise on all product lines and has recently designed a residential lighting curriculum to enhance the LSC’s breadth of training programs. Anne also played a role in the development of the recently launched Litepro DLX design software and is part of the team that is currently directing the LSC renovation.
Anne is a 2013 graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Industrial
Engineering and is a recent newlywed.

David VenhausSenior Solutions Specialist
David joined Hubbell Lighting as Senior Solutions Specialist in July of 2015 after
spending 15 years developing LED based illumination systems for automotive, aerospace, marine, portable,
outdoor area lighting and high end interior applications.
As the primary resource for LED related information in the Lighting Solutions Center, David is charged with staying in
front of the ever-changing trends and concepts related to LED technology and conveying that information to customers. David also presents on Hubbell’s interior portfolio of products and is currently developing new CEU content to add to the training center’s education offering.
Prior to joining Hubbell Lighting David was founder and president of his own optics company. David has also served as Director of Lighting Technology and held positions in optical and application engineering in various
industries. David holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the Milwaukee School of Engineering
and has been awarded multiple patents on LED based lighting systems.

Suzanne Sylvester Training Coordinator
Greg brings over 28 years of experience in the lighting industry to his role
as Manager of the Lighting Solutions Center.Greg began his lighting career in electrical distribution and
segued into managing the technical support department for a large manufacturer, and then into lighting education
and training.
Although he specializes in the company’s outdoor portfolio in his current role, Greg also instructs on a wide range of topics and is a highly sought after guest speaker. He teaches annually at Lightfair , the IESNA Street and Area conference, and for regional and national CTPED events.
An active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA)
and owner of the LC credential.
Suzanne joined Hubbell Lighting in 2007 to coordinate the activities
that make up the customer experience at the Lighting Solutions Center.
In her role as Training Coordinator, she serves as the primary liaison between the sales team and Lighting
Solutions Center in executing customer events, and manages the busy training center schedule. She also
assists with developing marketing content for the Lighting Solutions Center, both in print and online, and manages the logistics of the LSC’s Continuing Education program.
Suzanne’s background includes event management and marketing in a variety of industries including hotel, real estate and publishing. She is alumna of Clemson University and holds a degree in English.

RegistrationInterested participants may register for any course by registering online at www.lightingsolutionscenter.com.
Class timesClasses normally begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m. You will be notified via email of any changes to the class schedule. Shuttle service from your hotel to the Lighting Solutions Center is available through the Hilton (please notify bell desk that you will need a shuttle). Standard shuttle departure time is 8:15 a.m. from the front entrance of the hotel, unless otherwise notified.
Air TravelParticipants should plan to fly into Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) the evening before class begins. Arriving guests may arrange Hilton complimentary shuttle service from the airport upon arrival by making a reservation with the Hilton Front Desk. To make a reservation, call (864) 232.4747 and request to speak to the Front Desk (please make sure to identify yourself as a Hubbell guest). Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, North Carolina and Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) in Asheville, NC are approximately 1½ hours from Greenville and may be more cost-effective options from some locations. Participants choosing these airports will need to arrange transportation to and from Greenville, SC.
MealsThe Lighting Solutions Center provides lunch and snack breaks during class sessions. For three-day class sessions, a dinner event will be provided. All other meal requirements are the responsibility of the participant. Those with special dietary requirements should notify the Lighting Solutions Center coordinator one week prior to arrival.
