LIFT - USE CASE
Name: Request for Lift
Actors: Passenger
Goal: Movement of passenger to move to different floors
Reference to requirements:
Pre-conditions:
1. The Lift is fully functional.
Description:
1. Passenger goes near the Lift buttons present in the particular floor.
2. Passenger presses the buttons for going to the requested floor.

3. The Lift checks whether it is in the current floor in which the passenger
intends to go or it is below / above the requested floor.
4. If the Lift is already in the requested floor it does no movement. Else if the
Lift is below or above the requested floor it MOVEMENT OF
LIft to reach the requested floor.
5. The Lift opens the door and senses using sensor if any movement is there in
the door.
6. If the passenger inside presses button and lift senses no movement in the
door. Then the system closes the door.
7. Then the lift MOVEMENT OF LIFT to reach the requested floor.
8. Then the lift opens the door and displays the current floor.
Post-conditions:
1. The passenger reaches the requested floor and lift closes the door on sensing
using sensor no activity near door and remains on the current floor until next
requests.
Exceptions:
1. Some other passenger in some floor requests for lift.
The Lift checks if the other passenger asking services is in between
the current and requested floor, also the other passenger requests the
direction in the same direction as the inside passenger. Then the Lift
stops and opens in the other passenger floor. Else lift does not stops.
Power Failure it connects to auxiliary power supply.
Malfunctioning of Lift the Lift give Alarm.

Actors: Maintenance Engineer
Goal: Maintenance of Lift

Pre-conditions:
1. Power Supply is available to Lift.
Description:
1. The Maintenance engineer checks the display in Lift and in respective floors
display are correct working.
2. The Maintenance engineer presses different movement buttons and the Lift
will > MOVEMENT OF LIFT to different floors and requested by
the Maintenance Engineer.
3. Maintenance Engineer checks on Lift Health conditions.
4. If any problem of Lift Maintenance Engineer, he does the maintenance.
Post-conditions:
1. The Lift is in good working conditions.
Exceptions:
Power supply failure:
The Lift connects to auxiliary power supply.
Name: FIRE ALARM
Actors: Safety engineer / Fire Condition
Goal: Alarm on fire condition
References to requirements:
Pre-conditions: Fire sensor is working correctly
Description:
1. When there is a fire condition the Lift senses the fire and Alarms.
2. The maintenance engineer also checks the Alarm by setting the condition the
Alarms condition.
3. After Alarm the Lift goes to the ground floor and opens the door.
Post-conditions: The lift stays in ground floor.

Actors:power cut /request for lift/ fire condition
Goal: movement of Lift.
Reference to requirements:
Pre-conditions:
1. Power supply is available.
Description:
1. Whenever there is a request of lift my passenger then the lift moves to the
requested floor.
2. When there is a fire condition the lift moves to ground floor.
3. On power cut the lift connects to auxiliary power supply and move to
nearest floor.
Post-conditions:
1. Lift is moved
Exceptions:
1. power supply cut.
The Lift is connected to auxiliary power supply.
