Lift by Maharam

Sporty, patterned Lift is an eco-conscious, non-wovenupholstery textile designed by Konstantin Grcic incollaboration with Maharam. It is part of an ongoing seriesof innovative designs and continues Grcic’s explorationinto non-traditional textile manufacturing techniques.

Lift offers a new material language as a structured knit witha technical, molecular expression that project a sense ofupward movement. It features a coloured net of ovals inthree scales set against a black background. These morphinto large vertical stripes.

Lift is a piece-dyed textile that is comprised of an industrialpalette. Consistent with Grcic’s earlier textiles, the colorurscheme includes athletic-inspired brights, such as emeraldgreen and azure.

Suitable for contract environments and private spaces,Lift offers a reduced environmental impact. It is certified by GREENGUARD to the Gold standard, as well as for Reduced Emissions.

Konstantin GrcicKonstantin Grcic is an industrial designer based in Munich.He trained as a cabinetmaker before studying designat the Royal College of Art in London. Grcic manages hisown industrial design practice and has designed furniture,lighting, and other products for a number of leadingdesign brands.

The work of Konstantin Grcic is in the permanentcollections of the Museum of Modern Art in New Yorkand the Centre Pompidou in Paris, among others. Soloexhibitions of his work have been held at Museum Boijmansvan Beuningen in Rotterdam (2006), Haus der Kunst (2006),the Art Institute of Chicago (2009), and the Vitra DesignMuseum (2014).
