Mission/Principles WeconnectallNewJersey’slibrariestoeachotherandtheresourcestheyneedtoservetheircommunities. WehavecreatedthefollowingsetofprinciplestoguideourthinkingandactioninimplementingtheLibraryLinkNJStrategicPlan:

• Wefocusonourmulti-typemembers,theircommunitiesandtheirperspectives.

• Wevaluediversityandinclusionandsupportourmembersinputtingthesevaluesintoaction.

• Wepracticeopen,transparentcommunicationwithourmembers.

• Weprovideguidancetoourmemberlibrariesastheyadapttoevolvingideasabouttheplacelibrariesofalltypesholdinthecultureatlarge.

• Wehelplibrariesrespondstrategicallytothechallengesandopportunitiestheyface.

• Weofferopportunitiesforcollaborationandconnectioninordertocounterbalancetheisolationthatsomelibrariesmayexperience.

• Wearepreparedtomeetthechallengesandopportunitiesofthefuturethroughadaptiveplanningandsecuringmultiplefundingstreams.

• Weassistourmembersinmakingthebestpossibledecisionsfortheircommunities,understandingthatsuccessforeachlibraryisuniquelydefined.

• PartnerwiththeNewJerseyStateLibrary(NJSL)toestablishtheDigitalPublicLibraryofAmerica(DLPA)asaservicetothelibrary,archivesandmuseumcommunityinNewJersey.
