Why a strategic review?

• Undertaking the Library Review is in part due diligence

– It is something we should simply do as we move forward

• The Provost, President & 6th Decade Plan all call for such reviews

• Integrating and dovetailing our work with multi-year planning now underway across campus

• Engagement with all Library staff• Engagement with Library stakeholders• A scan of the current environment• Aligning our resources with our strategic directions• Ensuring the current campus “integrated planning

and budget” review process is taken into account• A review and identification of appropriate impact,

outcome and assessment measures

The Library Review will include at a minimum

• Due diligence• Engaging with each other• Engaging with our users• Building on strengths• Strategic & forward looking

• A cost-cutting exercise• Operationally focused • Meant to address all issues • Our sole focus
