How do you become a library helper? Be a good student. Get your

schoolwork done in class.

Ask your teacher to write you a pass in your planner to come to the library to help.

What are the days and hours of operation of the libraries?

Monday - Friday 7:25am to 2:55pm Closed during a different lunch

period every day Closed when filled to capacity

How many books and magazines can you take out at one time?

Any combination of a total of 4 books and magazines

What is the borrowing period for books and magazines?

2 weeks for books 1 week for magazines

How do you renew library materials and for how long?

Tell Ms. Matesic before or on the due date that you want to renew.

You do NOT have to bring in the book. The renewal period is 2 more weeks

for books. Magazines must be returned after 1 week.

How much do you pay for overdue books and magazines?

$.05 per day not counting weekends or days off

If you lose or damage a book, do you have to pay for it?

Yes! You have to pay, If not, your obligations will follow you to the high school.

What happens if you do not take care of your obligations?

Your obligations will haunt you.

You will not receive your diploma until you take care of business.

You will be very sad.

If you do not have enough money to pay off your debts, how else can you “pay?”

Do library community service. For every 20 minutes that you

work in the library $1.00 is forgiven from your fine.

How can you come to the library during the school day? Come with a teacher and your

class. Come individually with a pass

from your teacher. Use your planner.

Come from your lunch period. Sign in at circulation desk.

How do you come to the library from lunch? Listen during the morning

announcements for the lunch periods that are open for students to come to the library from lunch.

Ask any teacher to write a pass on your planner for that lunch period.

Eat lunch. Show your planner pass. Come to the library. Sign in.

What is Lunch Bunch?

Lunch Bunch is a book club.

It meets once per month in the library during lunch periods.

Sign up in the cafeteria.

Bring the book you are reading.

Eat a healthy snack. Win prizes.

What are the printing policies? Always ask permission to print, even

for class assignments. Printing for personal use is OK as long

as you ask permission and have money to pay for it. No personal printing while working on an assignment.

Pay $.10 per page; all printing is black and white

Keep it clean…no bad words or pictures.

What about Policy 815, the school district’s Acceptable Use Policy of the Network and Internet? Policy 815 is most definitely in

effect in the library! Find it on the WHSD web pages

under “District” and then “Technology.”

What about headphones, food, gum, and drinks in the library? Not allowed! The library is a NO

headphone-food-gum-drink zone.

No running or hiding either!

Phone calls home, Plan for Success, and referrals will be used for all discipline problems, just like any other class.
