What is a “proctored exam”?

A proctored exam is the test that requires student to be overseen/supervised by an individual (called proctor) who is approved by the instructor. The proctor ensures the security and integrity of the exam process.

Proctored Exams

Page 31: Library Orientation - Fall 2014

You must check your syllabus as soon as you have access to your online course room. The need to take the proctor exam & exam dates should be listed on the course syllabus and/or course calendar. If you are not clear, then contact (email) your instructor immediately for an answer. COMP 1000 courses do not require a proctored assignment or exam at this time.

How do I Know if I need to make arrangements for a proctored exam?

Page 32: Library Orientation - Fall 2014

At WGTC, you have 3 choices to complete the exams: Make an appointment with a WGTC campus

library using the Student Proctored Exam Form, which can be found in the Start Here folder of your online course.

Use Tegrity 360 online (when applicable and you have a web cam and system requirements).

Find an approved third-party proctor.

Proctored Exam Options

Page 33: Library Orientation - Fall 2014

The most efficient way to schedule is to call the WGTC library to select a date and time for your exam BEFORE filling out the proctor form.

You must access the Student Proctored Exam Form in your online course room and schedule the exam at your preferred campus library location during the dates and times identified by your instructor.

Once your appointment is confirmed, you will upload the form to the Completed Proctored Exam drop box. There is no fee for campus library proctoring.
