Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Programs for everyone, of any age. Kids sign up at the Children’s Desk; Adults & Young Adults (6th grade and older) sign up at the Reference Desk. Sign up for this summer’s reading program and have fun reading all summer long. Read for fun and read for prizes. Find out how to win prizes when you sign up. Reading prizes include Dairy Queen Dilly Bars, LEGOs®, apples from Star Orchard, passes to the Calumet County Fair, tickets to Mulberry Lane Farm, items donated by the Green Bay Packers, Glass Nickel & Pizza Hut pizzas, passes to the Grignon Mansion, ice cream from McDonald’s & Culvers, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers prizes, SkyZone passes, passes to Menasha Pool & Swimtastics, a poolside suite at Comfort Suites for one night, Subway sand- wiches, Texas Roadhouse coupons, breakfast on an Outagamie County farm, rock ‘n’ roll music CDs, and valuable certificates for the WeatherVane restaurant. June 2018 June Displays & Exhibits On the Art Wall in the Fireside Room: Enjoy landscapes captured by the lens of Joel Witmeyer, who will be showcasing his summer themed photo creations some of them in metal print. Summer is Mr. Witmeyer’s favorite time, especially in Wisconsin since the season is so short. As a photographer, the artist finds his voice among automobiles, landscapes, nature, and the beach. Coffee with the artist will be offered on Saturday, June 23, at 10:00am. Learn from his experience and technique. In the Display Case in the Circulation Desk Area: A display that features a collection on the rock band Kansas that belongs to Steve Smits. Steve’s collection was featured by the Post Crescent in 2016 as one of the most unique and comprehensive on the band. In the Glass Case in the Library Lobby: The Outagamie County Master Gardener Group is promoting their Garden Walk event and additional information. The walk includes seven gardens on Saturday, June 16, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Build a Robot @ your public library Now available at the library: LEGO Boost and LEGO EV3 robots. Assemble it. Code it. Repeat! Robots may be checked out at the Reference Desk for use inside the library. These were pur- chased for library patrons by Franzoi & Franzoi, SC. There are courses to support business professionals, including business law, human resources, management, manufacturing and marketing; computer and technology courses for the beginner to the advanced; courses in parenting, the arts and hobbies; health and wellness courses; and some that offer continuing education credits. Also, there are GED, SAT/ACT, GRE and LSAT prep courses available. With your Menasha library card, you can enroll in a course at no cost. Courses run for six weeks, with two new lessons released weekly (for a total of 12 lessons). New courses begin every month.
