When it was Pan’s turn, he played his

end-blown flute. Pan played his instrument successfully too, but he

also accepted that he wasn’t so

good as Apollon.

As all the referees chose Apollon as a winner, King

Midas told that Pan was the

best.

burro diciendo: 'No merecen orejas humanas'. Thereupon, Apollon got angry with King Midas and he lengthened and turned King

Midas’s ears to donkey’s ears by saying: ‘You don’t deserve human ears.’

King Midas was ashamed of his ears. Although he tried to hide his

ears, he failed to hide his ears from his barber who came to cut his hair.

King Midas ordered his barber to keep this secret. If he explained this secret to

someone, King Midas stated that he would kill him. However, one day, the barber couldn’t keep this secret anymore and went to a well and shouted:

‘Midas has donkey’s ears’, but he didn’t take account of reeds near the well.

This shouting reached to the reeds with the help of water and spreaded to the all country with wind.

No podía

The people who learnt this secret started to make fun of King Midas. He became upset and cut his ears, but his ears lengthened more that time. He couldn’t bear his

position and begged Gods.

Gods felt sorry for King Midas and decided that he suffered enough and forgave him and turned his

ears to human ears.
