Lewisporte regional fisheries and marine Centre, as
well as ongoing marine-based training and courses in
selected subjects.

workshops, ship simulators, and marine software labs
for instruction in navigation and bridge watch.

the marine institute currently has three schools — the
school of fisheries, the school of maritime studies and
the school of ocean technology. Within these schools
a number of specialized centres and units lead the
institute, both nationally and internationally, in applied
research and technology transfer and in the provision
of training to a variety of industry clients.
As part of the institute’s activities in the Lewisporte
area, representatives from each of the institute’s applied
research and training centres will offer workshops in
Lewisporte and the central region and meet with
local industry, government and community representatives
