Making up the blocks
Block 1 and block 2 are made up in the way. Take your strips of fabrics
1, 2 , 5 and 6 now sew them to your strips of fabric 11. Press open and
then cut at 2½" x 4½". Sew them in to pairs, two sets for each block.
Block 1 Block 2
Lay out all your pieces for each block. Sew the two small triangles
together and then sew this to the large triangle to make a square.
Sew the rows together and then stitch your row to complete the block.
6 sets of each of the blocks.
Making up the quilt.
Take your squares of fabrics 9 and 10. Draw a diagonally line onto the
back of fabrics 10 and place this onto fabric 9 with right sides together.
Looking at which way your fabrics will come out when cut in half
diagonally.
Stitch a ¼" each side of the line, cut on the line and press open. You
may need to trim back to a 3½" square.
Lay out all your blocks, small squares and sashing strips as in main
diagram.
Sew in rows and then the rows together to complete the quilt
Rows
When all your rows are stitch together the centre of the quilt is
competed.
Border
Take your side strip of fabric 12, sew them to each sides of the quilt.
Next stitch the top and the bottom strips to the quilt.
Quilting
Sandwich quilt top, wadding and backing together. Quilt by hand or machine as desired. Trim backing and wadding to size.
Binding
Use your favourite method from fabric 12 to bind the quilt.
