The New Holland Boomer 30 is an ideal compact tractor

for work in Adelaide Hills orchards and vineyards, but is also well suited for use by smallholders, for landscaping work, or in horse yards and stables. It is a durable, easy-to-operate machine that is strong, powerful and easily adaptable, and therefore able to be used effectively in a variety of applications, including working on steep and uneven ground.

The Boomer 30 features a 28hp, 4-cylinder diesel engine, making it ideal for use in an orchard or vineyard as a bin tractor, as it’s strong enough to tow a trailer with two apple bins on board, while the 1.4 tonne operating weight (the heaviest in its class) means that it is sturdy enough to avoid being pushed downhill on wet ground by a heavy load. The 1.5l cubic-displacement also means that the horsepower you need is easily generated, while being a 4WD allows you to gain traction on even the most slippery ground.

There is a choice of transmissions available and so you can opt either for a 12x12 synchronised shuttle shift (SSS) or 3 range hydrostatic transmission (HST). The HST provides exceptionally smooth changes, and moving between forward and reverse is achieved with foot pedals and without

the need to use the clutch or gear levers. This makes it an ideal choice for smallholders, gardeners or anyone who doesn’t use their machine all the time, as operation is extremely simple and easy to master. The SSS is ideal for loader work, or any situation where you have to move between forward and reverse gears frequently, as there’s no need to stop before shuttling or changing gears.

Versatility is a key quality of the Boomer 30, and it’s designed to be used with a variety of implements, such as a mower deck, backhoe, or an integrated front-end loader (it features a three-point lift capacity of 650kg). electro-hydraulic rear 540rpm, as well as a rear hydraulic remote and mid mount valve and joystick as standard (with the option for a mid mount PTO and second rear remote valve).

A further feature that makes the Boomer 30 an ideal solution for someone running a small orchard or market garden, or maintaining a weekend or holiday property, is its ease of

maintenance. All of the routine maintenance points are easy to access, and the engine oil can be checked without having to lift the hood or remove a loader attachment. There are 300-hour engine and 400-hour transmission service intervals, and the engine can be reached without having to remove any side panels. This means that maintenance and service time is kept to a minimum, especially

important if the Boomer 30 is your only machine.Operator comfort and safety is an integral part of the Boomer 30 design, and it features ROPS along with ample leg room and a platform that is easy to climb on and off. In addition, it comes with cruise control, and all levers and switches are colour coded and positioned so that their use is intuitive. The dashboard is clearly set out and easy to read,

and the tilting steering wheel and adjustable operator’s seat mean that a long day’s work doesn’t equal an uncomfortable one.
