    Intended Learning Outcomes:1. Evaluate the core skills, knowledge and competences required by your

    placement area and reflect upon how you have developed these in practice.

    2. Reflect upon your learning experience and identify areas for development andpersonal strengths which will form the basis of a clear action plan for year three.

    3. Work as part of a team to create and deliver a networking event which advancesthe personal and professional development of yourself and others

    4. Demonstrate in practice acquired skills and attitudes to the required level ofperformance.

    Learning and Teaching methods You will be immersed in practice theory in order to develop confidence and self-

    awareness within a safe and structured safe environment. Placements can be field specific, for those of you who know which area you wishto focus on, or they can be in a variety of different areas providing exposure to avariety of learning opportunities to support your personal development.

    Third year students will mentor you throughout the module and offer support andadvice in relation to preparing for professional communication and evidencingyour professional development. In addition they will offer ideas for the creation ofappropriate tools through which to demonstrate your professional developmentfor d ifferent audiences .

    You will meet with a variety of alumni at the beginning of the module. They willintroduce you to their work area and discuss their approach to their ownprofessional development.

    Clear contact points will be identified and spaced out throughout the year, withsupervision support in practice provided by your personal tutor and year 3mentor.

    You will have regular tutorials throughout the module. These will be with themodule team or field tutor and your own personal tutor. These tutorials will bedelivered either face to face or in the online learning environment.

    Moodle activities will provide you with learning activities, forums and directedstudy.

    You will have face to face or online lectures which will explore key concepts thatunderpin the module.

    You will attend workshops where you will discuss and share your placement

    experiences and explore how the concepts you are discovering in your level 5modules are being applied in practice.

    You will work with your peers in workshops to plan, organise and deliver anindustry-specific networking event.

    You will have directed study and activities which are supported by a work-basedonline Life in Practice journal which will be completed online.

    Action Learning Sets will provide you with structured activities, peer support andfeedback.

    Breakdown of study time:The Key Information Set (KIS) requires you to publish broad information in relation to how students willspend their time when studying a course. In relation t o t h i s modu le please indicate the proportion oftime (as a percentage of total study time) that students will spend in:

    Assignment 1 (50% of the module mark):

    Part 1 A reflective online journal which forms the basis of a written ProfessionalDevelopment Portfolio (2,000 words). This will reflect on your most recent placementexperience, analyse it in terms of your progress from your Level 4 placement andoutline a plan of action for your future using the Assignment 2 network event as astarting point.(Your submission must include documentation completed and signed by yourplacement provider as evidence of the completion of 2 x days of placement across 12weeks) (Learning Outcome 1 & 2)

    Part 2 Confirmation of Satisfactory Placement Completion (Pass/Fail)

    Completion of placement documentation. To be submitted as a part of theProfessional Development Portfolio

    Assignment 2 (50% of the module mark):

    Participate in a collaborative industry-specific networking event. This will be

    organised by you and your fellow year 2 students. Each of you presents your ownwork and takes a shared responsibility for planning, organisation and promotion ofthe event. You will be assessed on your individual presentation on the day of theevent and through a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates your contribution to theevent organisation.

    Formative assessment:

    1. Formative reflective online journal: Submitted via Moodle. The journal ismaintained throughout placement and feedback will be submitted regularly by the

    module tutor. It will outline key learning points and will directly contribute to thesummative learning journal.

    2. A midway report from the placement supervisor which provides formativefeedback and an agreed action plan for the remainder of the placement. TheFormative midway action plan is submitted via Moodle and feedback and supportwill be given accordingly.

    3. Tutorials.

    4. Structured peer support and feedback through action learning sets.

    5. Workshop and group work activities.

    Feedback:

    Formative feedback will take place after reflective online journal entries havebeen submitted.

    Midway formative placement feedback from placement provider. Tutors will meet with you after your placement and will provide you with support,

    advice and feedback. General feedback is delivered by peers and tutors during group work, tutorials

    and workshops. Written feedback for the summative assessment will be provided in accordance

    with standard university regulations and given to you within 20 working days. This

    will inform your approach to your third year.

    This module provides the basis for your third year, specifically the Level 6 placementmodule.

    Your experiences in this module will support you in the level 6 Now Where To? Module, where you will be expected to record a short presentation for year 2students, highlighting how you came to your current professional choices.
