Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the
Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) CONVERSION
Aim; This course will upgrade your existing qualification (Level 3 Award in
Training Skills and Practice, or Professional Trainer’s certificate) to full PTLLS.
Why? PTLLS is the minimum requirement for many
higher/further education teachers and publically
funded education. It also takes your teaching practice
to the next level.
Delegates will….
Understand their own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in
relation to teaching, including legal requirements
Further understand delegate differentiation; assessing learners’ abili-
ties, needs, etc.
Be able to use literacy/numeracy assessment tools, and embedding
these functional skills
Be able to generate an Individual Learning Plan
Take communication skills to the next level
Understand initial, diagnostic, formative and summative assessment
Be able to evaluate their own performance, and develop an improve-
ment plan

Prerequisites: Either a Professional Trainers Certificate OR Level 3 Training Skills & Practice is a MUST
Duration: Two day programme ( 09:00 start — 16:30 finish )
Assessment; Two pieces of course work must be submitted and marked by us,
one a review of your training plus two further lesson plans, the
second a short essay on roles/responsibilities.
