INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS - 15 Aug 2011

An action and fun filled independence day celebration at BSK

It attracted a number of spirited performances and participation

by the kids, teachers & volunteers

A Kite making workshop was arranged for the kids on the

occasion

EID CELEBRATIONS - Aug 2011

On the Occasion of Eid, all the children

at BSK were encouraged to let out theircreativity by coloring and drawing

A lecture was arranged for them toexplain the significance of the festival and

promote brotherhood.

HSBCs Visit to BSK - Aug 2011

HSBC visited our BSK on 5th

August

A newspaper fancy dresscompetition was organized! It attracteda zestful performance and participation

from all the children, organizers andthe representatives of HSBC.

LEGAL AID CAMP - Sep 2011

The aim of the camp was to provide the residents of Harijan Basti

professional guidance about legal Matters.

Our lawyer friend, Vipul took this session. He suggested possiblesolutions for the below mentioned issues:

Challenges regarding obtaining identity proof and Ration CardObtaining LPG gas connectionsRenting room/flatsChallenges in getting their kids admitted to schoolsProcedures and documents required for opening bank accounts

A TRIP TO NATIONAL

GANDHI MUESEUM

On the day of Gandhi Jayanti, the childrenwere to taken to a trip to the National Gandhi

Museum in New Delhi.All the children had a gala trip, the trip was

an exciting combo of education and funAt the end of the trip the kids were given a

treat with ice creams and sweets.Sponsors for the Event:

We are TWO years old now!

LEU Foundation has completed two years and BSK II one year!!

On the occasion of LEUs Foundation day a number

of acts were performed, which included a number of

English and Hindi group songs and Poems.

The meritorious students were given gifts & all theother students were motivated to perform better.

The day ended with a smile on every kids face

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS AT BSK - Dec 2011

From Santa Claus to Candies to Jingles all

the events at our Christmas celebration spreadhappiness and joy

We had a play depicting the birth Of LordChrist

A number to poems, jingles and songs wereprepared by our students. A Hindi play onHealth and Hygiene was also enacted.

The Christmas cake was cut by our very ownSanta ( Vishnu - our student)

At the end of the day all the children weretreated with cake and snack boxes

We also had our very own live guitarist forthe occasion, who in end played to thedemands of our kids!

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

We are proud to inform that we have successfully enrolled fourstudents to Sankalp School, Sushant Lok, Gurgaon

3) Priyanka - Age 9, Class - III

We have welcomed two new Teachers Mr. L.D. Singh & Mrs.

Padmaji into BSK this year

CEB Mentorship Program: We have 12 children going to CEBfor tuitions 3 days a week

We have also started classes for our ex-students who arewilling to learn

Computer classes: We have volunteers coming down to ourschool twice in a weekto give computer classes to our children

Republic Day Celebrations on 26th Jan 2012

Procuring books for all our students

Creating individual folders for each student to maintain theirprofile & to track their progress

Admission of 10-15 kids in Government / Private Schools

Teachers training with help from Teach for India (TFI) fellows

A special thanks to all our teachers!

We have been extremely happy to welcome Mrs. Padma jiinto our BSK family last year in Sept 2011. She has proved to

be an excellent role model for all the children. Her method

for teaching and handling the children is very admirable. She

has been teaching the senior kids.

We have also welcomed Mr. L.D Singh into our

institution last year. All our children are also delighted to

have him around.

Mr. Singh, he has been with our school since its

inception. We are obliged and thankful for all the hard

work and effort he has put into the school. He is an

asset to BSK.
