Letters By Shanon Quinn Dear President Bush, Keep my brother safe, Don’t let him take unnecessary risks, Don’t let him be a hero, He already is, to me. Bring him home unharmed To his grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends, To his mother and father, sister and brother in law, To his niece, Ivy, who adores him, To his lovely young wife and most of all, To his newborn son, Who will need his Daddy every day, Just as we all need him To make our lives complete. Amen Dear President Bush, My brother shows no visible scars, But although home for two years, he is gone. He breathes and works and laughs (sometimes) But he’s not my little brother anymore. He will be leaving once again To defend the weak. Please keep him safe, once again. But this time, Send the right person home to us. Thank you.
