We ask you again to observe proper course etiquette in regards to observing our post system along the cart paths in order to keep carts away from all greens, bunkers, tees, ground under repair sites, as well as any wet areas. At our meeting on June 25th the Board cautiously reviewed our 2015 Capital expenditures to date of $167,000, includ- ing the following major items: $66,000 to replace our mandatory 1st floor sprinkler system, $25,000 for HVAC units, $39,000 for course equipment, $17,000 for a roof and security gate replacement at the Course Maintenance Building; in addition to a host of lesser items. All of these fell under the “necessary” category, virtually eliminating any discretion- ary expenditure. With the absence of initiation fees which normally would be reserved to underwrite capital expendi- tures, we have to depend on our depreciation account to fund these expenditures, while reserving a portion of that amount for cash flow operating needs. This is also all contingent on the club operating at breakeven or a small surplus as budgeted. Because membership revenue has decreased in recent months, it will be very challenging to meet our budget in 2015, especially with all the inclement weather we have experienced. We however are looking forward to a very active next four months of summer/ fall and continue to ask for your strong support of all facets of our club. Enjoy your summer at BCC! Steve Scoville

LETTER from the PRESIDENT

REPORT from the GENERAL MANAGER

Dear Fellow Members:

Club operations were significantly impacted by June’s extremely wet weather. Not only was it challenging to mow and maintain the course without causing damage, but daily play and all the associated revenues were adversely affected. That notwithstanding the overall course continues to improve weekly and plans are in place to reduce the height of the rough to facilitate member play. We ask you again to observe proper course etiquette in regards to observing our post system along the cart paths in order to keep carts away from all greens, bunkers, tees, ground under repair sites, as well as any wet areas.

At our meeting on June 25th the Board cautiously reviewed our 2015 Capital expenditures to date of $167,000, includ-ing the following major items: $66,000 to replace our mandatory 1st floor sprinkler system, $25,000 for HVAC units, $39,000 for course equipment, $17,000 for a roof and security gate replacement at the Course Maintenance Building; in addition to a host of lesser items. All of these fell under the “necessary” category, virtually eliminating any discretion-ary expenditure. With the absence of initiation fees which normally would be reserved to underwrite capital expendi-tures, we have to depend on our depreciation account to fund these expenditures, while reserving a portion of that amount for cash flow operating needs.
