Exercise on page 10. Number 5. Phrasal verbs. Help themunderstand what they all mean. Tell them that it is their responsibility to learn them and to identify them in the nexttest. Exercise on page 10. Number 6. Read the questionsfor them. Do they understand them? Can they try to answer in English?

Explain Reported Speech. (Use page 121 from Teacher¶s book) Use only Affirmative and negative statements, whengiving examples.

Make a short review of what we saw in class. Remember them to bring their text books next class. Say good bye.

Greetings. Tell them that we are going to talk aboutsomething called ³Reported Speech´. Try to make themthink that this is something that we do unconsciously, butstill our brain follows an implicit rule.

What is reported speech? How do we use it and why?

Read with them the handout. Explain each rule in ReportedSpeech one by one. Explain the example on the applicationof each rule, and make them do one exercise per rule.

Check comprehension. Post the prompt with rules on thewall.

Ask if there are any questions regardless what we saw. Tellthem they have to study at home so they can understand

better. If they have questions tell them to bring them nextclass. Say good bye.

Ask the students to do the exercises at the end of thehandout. Help them if necessary. Take one students per example to the board, so they can practice and correct eachother.

Present the activity ³Famous phrases´. Ask 4 or 5 different pairs of students, (according to how much time we have) toread one phrase and the other one has to report it usingwhat we saw in classes. (Note to myself: Pick oneadvantaged student with one that I know is having a hard time understanding the rules ).

Introduce the subject ³Adjectives of personality´.Read the adjectives contained in the yellow box, on page11. Ask the questions on exercise 1.

Carry out the listening exercise on page 11. Read thelistening tip. Give essential vocabulary so each student canunderstand what the teacher is going to say out loud. Tellthem vocabulary is their responsibility. Teacher reads whateach person says from teacher¶s book. Read two times. Doexercise 2 and 3.

Explain the characters and their main features.

Introduce the OPPOSITE adjectives subject. Go to page 11and tell the students we they are going to learn theopposites of the adjectives they already know.

Teach them the opposites of each adjective. Try to explaintheir meaning to the students. Make them try to guess what

prefix does one determined adjective take. Help themrealize that one should sound ³better´ than the others.

Give them questions related to describing people and their personalities, by means of the use of adjectives.

Tell the students to write a small text, very simple,describing their best friend, using the questions given as aguide. They should also use some adjectives to describetheir best friend. Say good bye.

points have been assigned to their homework and that theywill be counted in the final result of the test.

Go over Reported Speech one more time. Give them theexercises on the board, so they can write them on their notebooks. Remind them that all new vocabulary taught inclasses it¶s their responsibility to learn it and understand it

before the test.

Last reminders before the test. Tell them they can bringtheir Verbs sheet and their Tenses sheet, and that they will

be able to use the paper posted on the wall with theReported Speech rules.

Remember there must be couplesrepresenting the same joke as other couples, but they haveto show the ³emotion´.

Help them practice what they have to say. Move aroundthe groups asking if they need any help. Tell moreadvanced students to help their classmates with

pronunciation.

Help the groups that have to use the ³emotion´ given toreally express it. Teacher must give the example.

Remember they could bring material to present in classwhat they have prepared (like cups, plates, flowers,candles, etc). They could also dress up, if they want to.Say good bye.
