III. PROCEDURE

A. Pre – Activity

1. Motivation

Who knows how to play the posture walk? I’ll teach you how to play

and we’ll play such game now.

Formation

Players are in circle formation facing right or counter –clockwise.

Each player has a book on his head.

How to Play the Game

1. At signal, all players walk forward in a circle, with hands on waist.

2. At another signal, everybody turns around to face the opposite

direction.

3. Any player whose book drops to the floor must get out of the game.

4. The game continues turning to the opposite direction at every signal

made by the leader.

5. The last five players left are declared the winners.

6. Repeat the game as many times as desired.

B. Developmental Activities

1. Presentation

Class, I have here pictures posted on the board. What do you think

the child is doing? How about on this picture? Do they show correct

posture? What are the ways to have a good posture?

2. Demonstration

Please observe as I demonstrate to you the correct posture in

sitting and in standing.

Correct Standing Posture

a. Stand straight, chest out, and abdomen in, head erect

and shoulders in line with the ears.

b. Arms and hands hung freely at the sides.

c. Distribute the weight of the body on both feet and feet

near each other at a distance of 15 cm.

Correct Sitting Posture

a. Place the feet flat on floor.

b. Place the hands on your lap or on the

arms of a chair.

c. Straighten the chest and the back.

d. Place the feet beside each other, or one

in front of the other.

3. Return Demonstration

Now, I’ll group you into four. Each group will be given a task card.

Choose one of your members who will instruct as you demonstrate the

correct sitting and standing posture.

Task Card

Direction: Perform the following in groups.

1. Correct Standing Posture

a. Stand straight, chest out, and abdomen in, head erect

and shoulders in line with the ears.

b. Arms and hands hung freely at the sides.

c. Distribute the weight of the body on both feet and feet

near each other at a distance of 15 cm.

2. Correct Sitting Posture

a. Place the feet flat on floor.

b. Place the hands on your lap or on the arms of a chair.

c. Straighten the chest and the back.

d. Place the feet beside each other, or one in front of the

other.

C. Post Activity

1. Discussion

What is posture? How can we have a good posture? Describe the

correct standing and sitting posture. Why should we always have a good

posture? What is the importance of having a good posture?

2. Application

We will use the groupings that you have before for our Search for

Super Posture. This will be done by groups.

Description of the Award – Super Posture

The award is given to the group whose members show the correct

sitting and standing posture.

Mechanics

1. When the music starts, you will begin walking forward. As you reach

the back part of the room, pose, turn around and then pose again.

Remember to walk with proper posture.

2. As the music stops, all of you will have to sit on different chairs.

3. As the music is played, you will all stand and introduce the name of

your group.

4. The music will be played again. The group who finished introducing

themselves will go to left side of the room and the next group will

follow.

Points to Remember:

1. In introducing, stand straight, feet together and the toes are about 15

centimeters apart.

2. Chest out and stomach in.

3. Bend the knees slightly.

4. The weight of the body must fall evenly on both feet.

5. Everybody must participate in Search for Super Posture.

IV. EVALUATION

Direction: Choose a partner and answer the checklist. One will check as

your partner performs.
