Presentation(15 minutes)

New-vocabularies learning.

1. From Worksheet 1, students will be exposed to some unfamiliar verbs. Teacher will pastes the words on the board.

2. Teacher teaches students the meaning of few unfamiliar verbs to students.

3. Teacher also draws shape of how the movement of the verb should be.

4. Teacher asks if students understand the meaning of the verbs better.

5. Teacher distributes Worksheet 2 to students.

6. Teacher asks students to copy down the information on the board.

7. Teacher gives guidance to average and weak students while they are writing.

T: Okay from the quiz just now, I believe there are few words that you don’t understand the meaning. I will explain now.

T: Wriggle is…..Draw the shape like this…

T: Now I will give you this paper, please fill in the boxes with correct spelling and copy down the information from the board. Understand?

-To help students to understand the meaning of words better.

-Easier task will be given to the weak students (as I was advised not to give them any hard task according to their ability in learning) and I prepared continue-the-dots writing task for them)

8. Teacher collects the worksheet.Practise(10 minutes)

Chanting the poem! 1. Teacher pastes the poem on the board.

2. Teacher asks students to read together without rhythm.

3. Teacher then does the chanting with background music and action.

4. Students follow after the teacher.5. Teacher asks students to stand up

and repeat the chanting.6. Teacher assigns which group to

chant which line of the poem.7. Students recite the jazz chant by

group (take turn according to the line assigned to them)

8. Teacher asks students to recite the jazzchant / poem together as whole class.

T: Let’s read these sentences without rhythm. Slow and steady, with correct pronunciation.

T: I will make it sound interesting with background music and actions.

T: Let’s chant together!

T: There’ll be three groups, I will chant the first stanza. The first group will chant the first reason, second group chants the second reason, and third group will do for the third reason. And for the last one, we will do it together.

-To let students practise collaborative work.-Stress-free poem learning.

-Stress free approach in teaching poem to students. By making it rhythmic instead of a normal/boring poem recital strategy.

-I also recorded the audio myself to make the lesson more lively and the poem enjoyable.

Production(25 minutes)

Produce your own octopus paper puppet + poem.

1. Teacher tells students they are going to make an octopus paper-puppet.

2. Teacher shows a sample of the paper-puppet.

3. Teacher reminds students to write

T: Here I have octopus paper-puppet. This is my octopus. Today you are going to make your own octopus

Teaching aid:-paper plate -glue and scissors -templates of tentacles

templates of tentacles and eyes to the students.

5. Students may begin cutting the tentacles.

6. Teacher provides scissors and glue to those who do not bring them.

7. Teacher asks them to write the poem nicely and neatly.

8. If students finished early, students can decorate the octopus with any accessories drawing on the paper-plate.

T: I will give you one paper plate. Cut and paste the tentacles, write down the poem on the paper plate. After you’re finished writing the poem, stick the eyes and draw accessories.

T: Those who do not bring scissors and glue can use mine.

Closure(5 minutes)

Conclusion 1. Teacher asks students to recite the jazz chant for the last time.

2. Teacher asks students if they love the jazz chant.

T: Okay let’s recite the chant for the last time.T: so, do you like this poem?
