II. Time allotted: 45 minutes
III. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
Use vocabulary iterms related to music for reading musical magazines,
listening to musical channels in English.
Develop skimming and scanning skills
Read for general ideas and specific information about TV shows.
Develop the skill of guessing meaning of the words based on the text.
Improve their reading comprehension skill by answering questions.
IV. Lexical iterms: phenomenon, season, audience, contest, idol.
V. Lesson focus: Reading.
VI. Teaching aids and materials:
Teacher: laptop, projector, textbook, handouts.
Students: textbook.
VII. Anticipated problems and solutions:
1. Anticipated problems:
- Students may encounter certain difficulties in doing tasks related to the topic ( e.g.
students don’t understand the question or difficult words).
- Some students maybe too shy to talk in front of class.

- Teacher tries to give explanations and instructions as clearly as possible.
- Teacher encourage students to present their viewpoints in groups, in pair before
standing in front of class individually.

Pre-reading
(14 mins)
I. Activity 1:Teaching vocabulary
-Before you read, I will give you
some new words.
Steps for teaching vocabulary:
-T elicits the new word by some
techniques.
-T reads each word three times and
asks all Ss to repeat it chorally.
-T asks four or five Ss to read all the
words loudly in front of the class.
-T listens and helps Ss to correct
their pronunciation.
-T repeats the same process for the
other word.
-T asks Ss copy them down.

- T rubs out the new words one at a

- Each time T rubs out a word in

III. Activity 3: Task 1
-T shows some logos on screen and
asks Ss answer the question below in
pair.
* T gives instructions :
“Now the whole class, look at this.
I have a question for you”.
Are you familiar with them?
Tell what you know about
them. You have 1 minute.
- Then T calls some pairs look at the
logos and discuss what they know
about them.
-Ss discuss what they know about the logos.

Activity 3: Answer the question
(5 minutes)
-T divides class into 4 groups, 2 table make a group.
-T gives the instructions:
“Next, lets move on to the task 4. I would like you to read the questions first to make sure you understand what information you need in order to answer the questions. After you read the text again and locate the part of the text where you can get the answer to each of the questions before you discuss the answers. You have 5 minutes.”
-T checks the instructions:
1.“What are you going to do?”
2.“How long will you do this task?”
3.“Will you work in pairs or in groups?”
-T checks groups’ answer and gives
1.“Work in pairs”
2.“Read the text again and underline some words. Then choose the best answer in the task 3.”
