Jesus Still Loves His

Erring Brethren!• Proof: His insistence that someone convert and restore

those who have wandered away (Jas. 5:19-20; Gal. 6:1)• Proof: His provision for forgiveness

– Repent (Rev. 3:19; 2:5; Acts 8:22)– Confess (Jas. 5:16; Acts 8:22; 19:18)– Pray for forgiveness (1 John 1:9; Acts 8:22)

Jesus Stands At The Door!

• “Stands” – Greek perfect tense (past action, abiding results)

• You may have closed the door on Jesus– Result of hardening the heart (cf. Heb. 3:7, 15; Rev. 3:15-17)– Preoccupation with “other things”– Pleasure of sin– Procrastinate

• All the while, He is still standing there…waiting on you!

Jesus Keeps on Knocking!

• Jesus stands at the door and knocks, knocks, knocks…• He knocks on our hearts with His voice (Rev. 3:20)

– “If anyone” – He wants all erring Christians back (2 Pet. 3:9)– “Hears” – must be willing & listening (Rev. 3:22; Matt. 13:16)– “My voice” – through His written word for all to hear (Matt.

22:31-32; 1 Cor. 14:37)

Door!• Do you hear your Savior knocking, pleading with you?• Only YOU can open the door!

– Salvation is personal! No one can decide for you or force you!

• Opening the door brings back all the blessings!– Salvation from past sins (Heb. 8:12)– Honor of wearing the name of God’s Son (1 Pet. 4:16)– Becoming an heir of God (Rom. 4:16-18)– Having bros & sis in God’s family who love you (1 John 4:7-11)– Having the joy of salvation in your heart (Psa. 51:12)– Having the peace of God to guard your life (Phil. 4:6-8)– Having the hope of heaven to anchor the soul (Heb. 6:19-20)– Having Jesus’ banquet table of His presence & His blessings (Rev. 3:20)
