Alex is our group leader so he has definitely had the biggest impact on getting our product on way and has done wonderfully on keeping us all on schedule. Starting on March 21 st we really started working hard to collaborate with one another in completing the job’s justification which we had finished by the next day and was submitted on time March 23 rd . This justification was necessary in order to explain who our target audience was, to pick out our end product and how we plan on creating that project as a group. This justification was very helpful for the group as a whole in getting us all on the same page for the project at hand and deciding what responsibilities each one of us were going to be in charge of. The project that my group has been working on these past couple of weeks is our repurposing project of informing current business students at Washington State University on the alternatives to save money on textbooks. Our product is a pamphlet that will let students know the cost comparison data of textbooks at Washington State University’s on campus bookstore and online alternatives such as Amazon and Chegg. We started this project on March 21st and continue to make the changes currently for our end product. This memo is intended to outline the remaining work that our group planned, an evaluation of the progress that we have made thus far, and what our group has planned in order to complete this project in a timely manner.

As a group we have delegated the responsibilities of this project evenly amongst ourselves based on our skill sets and what portions of this project interest us. Alex is our group leader so he has definitely had the biggest impact on getting our product on way and has done wonderfully on keeping us all on schedule. Starting on March 21st we really started working hard to collaborate with one another in completing the job’s justification which we had finished by the next day and was submitted on time March 23rd. This justification was necessary in order to explain who our target audience was, to pick out our end product and how we plan on creating that project as a group. This justification was very helpful for the group as a whole in getting us all on the same page for the project at hand and deciding what responsibilities each one of us were going to be in charge of. In the justification document we also highlighted completion dates for the tasks we were expected to accomplish in the future and how those were going to be achieved.

On March 28th, Alex, our team leader distributed the data that he had originally gathered to the rest of our team making sure that we knew exactly what research he had done and answering any questions we had for him about that. We then had all the relevant information needed to work together to conclude our final project. This is when Alex delegated our roles to each of us and explained what these responsibilities entailed and the deadlines associated with them or our end result.

As I discussed before, each role was specifically chosen by our group leader Alex, designated to us by the specific skills that each member has. Therefore Antoine, the MIS major in the group was chosen to create the charts and graphs that will act as a visual representation on our pamphlet. These are an important part of our product, as they draw in the readers’ eye and put the data into easily readable and accessible representations. Antoine should have a draft of his work completed by April 10th in order for our group to stay on task and our group leader, Alex, will ultimately work together with Antoine to see what graph or chart works best for our intended audience.

For the remaining group members, Ryan and I, we were given the task of reviewing the data provided from the secondary sources that Alex had originally given us. We are responsible for including any other relevant information that we see fit for our end result. This means that we will also be in charge of typing out the information and getting a rough draft to Alex by April 10th as well as Antoine’s graph. To make sure that Ryan and I are on track we will have a meeting with Alex on April 6th to brainstorm any ideas that we might have missed and to see if Alex wants to add or remove any information.

Through Monday, April 11th to Thursday April 14th, our group will be meeting on a regular basis to put together the final product and also complete lesson 3.4 “Project Report Draft” to be submitted April 15th. To accomplish our goals by the appropriate time we will stay in contact with each other via email and text to be able to communicate regularly throughout the day as well as meeting with each other over the next few weeks. Physically meeting up will help us to put together our final product as well as using a Google doc to complete the project report draft described in lesson 3.4. Then, starting Monday, April 18th and continuing through Friday April 22nd the group will meet up in order to revise the draft based on the peer and instructor reviews we will receive. After we have revised and edited the project report draft we will swiftly move on to working on our presentation. Alex is responsible for making sure that each part is cohesive and flows together will, ensuring that all work will we done and ready by April 25th.

Our group has worked very well together so far and we haven’t had many problems but our biggest conflict we have faced is with our scheduling. Everyone in our group has a very busy schedule with work, school, and extracurricular activities so it can be hard to find a time in the week that will work for all of us. In order to overcome this issue, we have utilized the time we have in class and also trying to meet directly after class to stay on track with this project. As final exams are approaching it will be an even bigger struggle to meet up but with our group text, email, and using a Google doc we will be sure to stay in contact with one another to complete the tasks at hand.

Alex has done a great job as group leader in ensuring that we are on the right track, we have a clear plan of what needs to be done and we know how to achieve it. We have all taken our responsibilities seriously and been able to get our assignments done on time. The timeline is set, and we can avoid getting overwhelmed if we follow the schedule that we have all agreed upon. I know that if I have any questions or concerns that my group will be very helpful in answering and getting back to me on time.

Best Regards,

Devon Ehlert
