Using VAS

VAS for stocking– VAS operations done by the facilities for stocking periodically

on the basis of expected demand for a product i.e. kits

VAS for refurbishment• Items are returned needing laundering, tuning, cleaning, or

fixing before they are RFI. This will be discussed in a later lesson.

Breaking kits or De-kitting– Kits broken down because of a change in components– Components needed for shipping– Above maximum quantities

VAS Features in WMS

VAS features enable you to:– Create Work Orders for Kitting, DeKitting, Refurbishment– Automated Generation of Move Requests– Manage work orders and related processes:

Detailed work order tracking

Specify and track activities required for the service

Report Work Order Completion

What are Work Orders?

The controlling documents used to specify:– Work required– Materials required– Additional packaging instructions

Work orders specify what is to be made in terms of:– Parent Kit/Quantity

Work Orders are used for:– Stock– Shipping

Creating a User Initiated Kitting Work Order

Select VAS from the menu and

Click on Create Work Order

Create Workorder Details Screen-1

Work Order # - can be user defined or system generated

Service Item Group – select Kitting from the drop down

Purpose – select Stock, Order or Ship

Put a check in Release Immediately box.

Enter Item ID or select from the look up and tab out of field

Unit of Measure and Product Class will auto fill

Qty Avail to Build will populate

Enter Requested Quantity

Click on Proceed

Create Workorder Screen with Component Details

This screen shows an overview of the components and Total Quantity needed.

Click on SAVE. This will generate the move tasks from the storage location to the VAS zone. A Kit Batch sheet will automatically print.

Work Order Details

Click on View Tasks to view and complete the move tasks on the console from the storage location to the VAS Zone. If the move tasks will be accomplished via the scan device this step is not needed.

Kitting Trackable Kits

- Same process is followed for kitting a trackable kit with the exception of the steps to enter the kit trackable ID and the trackable ID.

- When the move task is created the system will prompt for the trackable ID of the component (s)

- - After the confirm button is selected pop up screens will be displayed for the kit trackable ID and the trackable ID.
