    Line (Definition) Line: An endless series of dots. In a drawing a line is a

    mark drawn with a pointed moving tool like a pencil orpen.

    Points create lines.

    Characteristics of line:

    Length, thickness, position

    lines form shapes or planes.

    Lines can be implied, they have or show direction.

    Horizontal lines imply quiet and repose.

    A vertical line has the potential for action.

    A diagonal line implies movement.

    Hatching

    Definition: Hatching is the use of fine, parallel lines drawn closelytogether, often rapidly drawn, to create the illusion of shade ortexture in a drawing.
