More Info. It is officially known as the L'Hotel national des Invalides

(The National Residence of the Invalids) which is a bunch of buildings in the 7th arrondissement of Paris containing museums and monument. They all are relating to the military history of France, as well as a hospital and a retirement home for war veterans, which is the building's original purpose. Louis XIV initiated the project by an order dated November 24, 1670. It was for the old and unwell soldiers. the name is shortened from hôpital des invalides.

Libéral Bruant was the architect for the Les Invalides. Grenelle was were the site was at. 1676 was when this projet was completed. Then they felt that the military veterans deserved a chapel so they built them a chapel and finished it in 1679. The chapel is called cour d'honneur ("court of honour")
