Il y 2 méthodes pour exprimer la possession:

1-La possession avec “de”

• To express possession or relationship, the French often use the following construction:

• Ex:

NAME OF PERSON

NOUN + du +de (d’) + { ARTICLE + NOUN

Voici le vélo de Caroline. Here is Caroline’s bike.

Voilà la voiture du professeur. There is the teacher’s car.

2- Les adjectifs possessifs

• Another way to express possession or relationship is to use POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES. In French, possessive adjectives agree with the nouns they introduce.

• Voici un stylo. C’est mon stylo.

• Voici une veste. C’est ma veste.

• Voici des livres. Ce sont mes livres.

The gender and number of a possessive adjective are determined only by the noun it introduces.
