Since the beginning of the 1970s LENNIIHIMMASH Group has been carrying out a complex of works for the development of gas processing units for the Orenburg Helium Plant (OHP).
OHP units are unique because nowhere in the world helium is recovered from “lean” gases (content of helium is 0.055 %).
Helium extraction factor is 97-99%.
Ethane extraction factor is 60%.
In 2006 LENNIICHIMMASH Group completed reconstruction of helium unit No2 intended to increase ethane extraction and to exclude helium extraction.
Ethane extraction factor is 95%.
