Principal’s Report
Dear Parents, Carers & Community Members
I hope this newsletter finds you all well. This week is our last week of learning for Term 1 with the last day being on Thursday 9th April 2020. Term 2 will resume for students Tuesday 28th April 2020. Keep an eye out on our facebook page, in your emails and on the Leeton PS Learning Hub for updates over the vacation period.
We were very excited on Friday to launch the Leeton PS learning Hub. Our teachers are working tirelessly to continue to develop our Learning from Home structures. This Leeton PS Learning Hub will be a starting point for ongoing resource sharing with you and your children for learning at home. It is ready to access now. The LPS Learning Hub will bring together in an easily accessible, central location, all of the communication relating to classwork, software guides, wellbeing support and contact details. We will be able to update this regularly in response to changes in routines or procedures. This will reduce the number of emails to parents from staff and provide more timely updates.

Our goal is to ensure we provide consistent learning opportunities to all our students in a gradual and structured manner.
The Leeton PS Learning Hub includes resources that children are familiar with and also some new ones. The Learning Hub will be a useful resource for learning opportunities in the coming weeks. It will complement all of the work we are doing now and in the future during this current situation.
The Learning Hub will have regular updates and additions to support you and your children with learning at home. It will include resources for each stage and information for parents.
We are refining the best ways for students to receive important information.
We continue to be proud of all our wonderful students at Leeton PS and the amazing new skills they are acquiring and the fascinating learning they are continuing within their new learning structures. We are certainly demonstrating that we are Respectful, Responsible and resilient learners at LPS. Keep up the great learning!

CRUNCHY CABIN AND UNIFORM SHOP
In line with expectations from NSW Health guidelines the LPS School canteen is closed until further notice.
ONLINE LEARNING
ONLINE LEARNING FROM HOME
Our teaching programs are being shared weekly and they are a Thursday- Wednesday timetable at this stage. It can also be accessed in the files section of your child’s Microsoft team.
Class teachers will be monitoring Microsoft Teams between 9.20am and 3.25pm providing support and answering questions. Staff will be in a meeting each morning from 8.50am-9.20am each day.
Technical Support will be available from school on reply basis. If you have a concern, our Administration Staff will note it and pass it on to the relevant teacher. Alternatively, email the school or message the school and we will respond to your enquiry when we can.
Remember that the work set for children is not designed to keep them occupied for the entire period of a school day (9.20am-3.25pm). Please encourage the kids to take regular breaks, engage in active and creative learning activities, enjoy physical activities outside and help out around the house to break up their school day!
ONLINE LEARNING AT SCHOOL
As consistently announced by the Premier of NSW, children are strongly encouraged to engage in Learning from Home. The School is open to support the children of Essential Service Workers. Limited supervision will be available with the school moving to a Work from Home model for the majority of our teaching staff from tomorrow.
Students at school will engage in exactly the same learning experiences that those who are at home will engage with.

A reminder that due to government restrictions in relation to the COVID-19 Pandemic the school canteen is closed and therefore is not available for children of Essential Service Workers attending school. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
