Located in Leeds city centre on The Headrow, the Gallery homes a remarkable collection of British 20th century art which was voted by John Russell-Taylor in The Times as ‘probably the best outside London’. The Gallery also maintains an acclaimed collection of works on paper, a significantly important sculpture collection, and an impressive collection of Victorian paintings, including work by popular Leeds artist Atkinson Grimshaw.

In 2010 the old lecture theatre in the centre of the Gallery underwent a major refurbishment to convert the space into state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities. The rooms are named in honour of four of the most famous artists from the Leeds region.

The Henry Moore Room

The largest of our meeting rooms seats up to 120 theatre style or 72 cabaret. The room is equipped with a cinema standard large-sized projection screen as well as a PA system and is fully air-conditioned. A flexible space, this is ideal for conferences or dinners.

Hepworth, Inchbold and Wadsworth rooms

The Hepworth Room on the ground floor and the Inchbold Room on the mezzanine above, seat up to 16 delegates boardroom style while the Wadsworth Room seats eight comfortably. All three rooms are equipped with a 40-inch LCD television screen and have Wi-Fi access.

Tiled Hall

The awe-inspiring Tiled Hall, now lovingly restored, reveals colourful Victorian tiles, marble columns and an oak, ebony and walnut parquet floor. A truly beautiful space suitable to hire for any special occasion or event and ideally suited for drinks receptions. There is also the opportunity to combine your hire with our inspiring galleries to really wow your clients.

Refreshments, light lunches and tailored menus can be arranged with our on-site supplier or space can be reserved in the Tiled Hall café.

Leeds Art Gallery is located on the Headrow next to Leeds Town Hall in the city centre. Leeds train station and several car parks are conveniently located nearby.

All meeting rooms are wheelchair accessible, except the Inchbold Room. The Henry Moore Room has an induction loop installed. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet facility on site.

Brodrick HallA spectacular space for hosting a variety of special events from gala dinners and award ceremonies to fashion shows and product launches. Clients can even make the most of the Brodrick Hall’s special features including five overhead suspended screens, stage, PA system and private wi-fi. The extraordinary map of Leeds embossed on the floor, which creates a real talking point amongst guests. Flexible and dynamic, this is one of the largest and most versatile spaces in Leeds with capacity for up to 400 reception guests or 200 at a seated dinner and has been utilized for everything from fashion shows to product launches.

Galleries Our galleries provide a truly special backdrop for more intimate events and offer something

completely different from standard venues – beautiful and interesting exhibits from all over the world. One of the special aspects of the museum is the opportunity to use and theme an event around the permanent gallery displays – Ancient Worlds, Life on Earth, World View and The Leeds Story – can all be hired on an exclusive basis. Home to over one million objects, Leeds Discovery Centre offers a stunning modern venue for meetings, presentations, workshops and training events.

Opened in 2007, this state-of-the-art museum storage facility preserves, houses and cares for Leeds Museums and Galleries’ diverse collections which date back to 1819. The amazing range of objects include an elephant skull, a medieval log boat, mummy bandages and meteorites – to name a few! There are also special collections of natural history, fine and decorative art and industrial history are designated as collections of national significance.

Special behind-the-scenes tours of the store can be arranged with staff free of charge on request, along with additional activities like treasure hunts to bring something different to your event.

Education Room

On the ground floor next to the community corridor, the Education Room offers a bright and flexible space which can accommodate 70 people theatre style or 25 people boardroom style. It is well equipped with an interactive whiteboard, projector, internet access, induction loop system and black-out blinds.

Meeting Room

On the first floor, this room is ideally suited for boardroom style meetings in a comfortable modern space with floor to ceiling windows.

Refreshments and finger buffet lunches can be arranged to suit your needs.

Located next to Leeds Dock (formerly Clarence Dock) 1.5 miles south of Leeds city centre the Discovery Centre has good road, rail and bus links, with ample free car parking.

Once the world’s largest woollen mill, Leeds Industrial Museum is housed in Armley Mills, a magnificent Georgian building, and presents a fascinating insight into the city’s industrial heritage.

There are two conference rooms, one can seat up to 80 delegates and the other a more intimate space comfortably seats 25 theatre style. The museum can also be hired for corporate events and private functions.

As part of your booking, delegates are free to tour the museum where they can step back in time and learn all about the industrial history of Leeds – from manufacturing textiles and clothing to printing, engineering and locomotives.

Conference room

Situated on the first floor, natural daylight cascades across this space through the 10 large mill windows which conversely also provide a stunning view across the listed mill complex and its tranquil setting.

Learning centre

A double aspect room with seven mill windows together with a beamed vaulted ceiling make this a light and airy space, ideally suited for training or smaller meetings.

The museum also houses a 1920s cinema which is one of the smallest working cinemas in the world. This is available for hire should you wish to use it for a presentation or a talk in a more unusual setting.

Catering

Refreshments and buffet lunches can be arranged or alternatively, if you prefer, you can bring your own. Hot drinks facilities are available to use in the Learning Centre.

This venue is ideally situated – only two miles from Leeds and its excellent transport links and yet delegates can enjoy the quiet tranquillity of Leeds Industrial Museum’s beautiful riverside setting.

Temple Newsam House is a magnificent Stately Home dating back 500 years and described as the Hampton Court Palace of the North. It is open to the public as a museum of fine and decorative art and set within a Capability Brown Landscape of rolling parkland, gardens and mature woodland for a truly rural escape.

Described as one of the greatest historic houses in the country Temple Newsam was the birthplace of Lord Darnley, infamous husband of Mary Queen of Scots and home to the Ingram family for 300 years. Beautifully restored to its former glory in 2005 its lovingly restored with over forty rooms to display fine art, renowned furniture, sumptuous textiles, silver, porcelain and Leeds pottery. Both the House and Courtyard are delighted to be able to offer rooms to hire in this unique setting.

All delegates receive complementary entry to the house and free use of the comprehensive audio guides. Private tours can also be arranged.

The Still RoomOn the ground floor in one of the oldest parts of the house, The Still Room is fully accessible for up to 40 people theatre style or 22 boardroom style. With an intimate and homely feel, the room was originally a domestic room for preserving and housed the stills for making the house ale. Today it displays the largest collection of Leeds Creamware in the country.

The Dining RoomThis exquisitely decorated room is most suitable for executive board room meetings for up to 22 people or fine dining for up to 24. Lined in oak panelling, it is a truly majestic room with an elaborate fireplace bearing the coat of arms of Mary Queen of Scots and James Darnley.

Great HallNext to the Dining Room, the Great Hall provides a grand function room for a seated meeting, dining for up to 100 guests or 200 at a drinks reception. With private access to the South Terrace delegates can be welcomed with an elegant outdoor drinks reception overlooking the gardens and fountain.

Picture GalleryLocated on the first floor the Picture Gallery is one of the finest examples of a Jacobean long saloon in England and stretches over 150 feet. Restored in 1745 as a gallery to display the house paintings, this room is the largest in the house and offers a stunning backdrop for your exclusive event. The gallery can seat up to 100 people theatre style or 120 for a reception and is available to hire for conferences, lectures, concerts and champagne receptions.

Additional facilities can be provided for all the rooms including projector, screen, microphone, lectern and laptop.

The Stable Courtyard; The Lady Hertford Conference SuiteSituated on the ground floor of the historic 18th Century Stable Courtyard, is a fully accessible contemporary suite of rooms with modern AV equipment and Wi-Fi; an excellent venue for a meeting, training day, lecture or the base for a team building event.

CateringRefreshments from light lunches to fine dining are available to order from Temple Newsam Farm cafe and more specialist catering can be arranged with our catering suppliers who provide a choice of set or tailored menus.

LocationJust four miles from Leeds city centre and two miles from the M1, Temple Newsam is easily accessible by car and offers delegates ample free car parking.
