What did he do?Iacocca was hired as anengineer by Ford MotorCo. but soon moved to itssales department and wasnoted for his successfulpromotion of the sportyyet inexpensive Mustang.

He also shiftedChrysler's emphasis tomore fuel-efficientcars and embarked onan aggressiveadvertising campaign.

Lee Iacocca was able to help these carCompanies as well as the community. It is very possible weWould not have these efficient cars that we have todayIf it wasn’t for Lee Iacocca’s creative ideas.

The Ford Mustang was designed by LeeIacocca. The creation of This car helped create a whole newlook on sports cars. On March 9, 1964, the first Mustangrolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan. Amonth later on April 17th, 1964, the FordMustang made its world debut.

K-car

Lee Iacocca joined Chrysler after being letgo from Ford. He wasted no time after theloans were granted and created. He wouldcall these cars the “last train at thestation”. If we failed here,it was all over. In 1981the K- car was released.They came in three bodystyles, 2 door coupe, 4 door sedan, and5-door wagon, and theywere named the 1981Motor Trend “Carof the Year.”
