LEDS GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP Advancing Climate-Resilient Low Emission Development Around the World Mission

Harness the collective knowledge and resources of governments, donors and international organizations, and practitioners in scaling up and strengthening implementation of climate-resilient low emission development around the world.

Objectives •  Strengthen quality, coordinated support, and

leadership of low emission climate resilient development strategies by countries in all regions

•  Foster effective implementation of LEDS •  Spur development of new LEDS by additional national

and sub-national governments

Launched in 2011, the LEDS GP now catalyzes action and collaboration across more than 140 countries and international organizations.

PROGRESS TOWARDS 2014 PERFORMANCE GOALS

Significant progress has been made •  On track to reach or exceed

all outcomes by the end of the year (except for uncertain impact on new LEDS engagement)

•  LEDS GP is focusing on a new line of activities to support early stage LEDS planning and to spur new action on LEDS.

SOME FINDINGS OF PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

•  LEDS GP succeeding in strengthening quality, coordinated support and leadership of climate resilient LEDS by countries in all regions

•  Greatest impact in advancing LEDS planning, with more modest results with implementation and development of new LEDS

•  Playing a unique role as convening platform to foster knowledge exchange, peer-learning, demonstration of best practices, and creating awareness

•  Significant opportunities exist for improvement •  Concentrate resources in fewer, deeper areas •  More tailored and agile country support •  Increase support for LEDS implementation •  Develop more robust community of practice •  Streamline operations and communications •  Others (see handout)

•  Keen to receive your feedback
