Stelvio / Mini Stelvio
Designed for maximum reliability
The Stelvio/Mini Stelvio family of products wasdesigned without the constraints imposed byconventional technology, but rather with anapproach that focuses on tangible application resultsand the technological possibilities offered by modernsemiconductors and their electronic supply andcontrol systems. The photometric measurements to be used forlighting calculations can be downloaded from ourwebsite at www.disano.it

Outstanding photometric performance
This product was designed with an optical systemcapable of controlling the potential glare created bythe growing light intensity of LEDs while achievinghigh photometric performance. This allows the application in street lighting schemeswhere there is a significant distance between thepoles. Combined optical system made in highperformance PMMA, resistant to high temperatureand UV radiation. Flux recovery systems in metallicV0 polycarbonate.
Using a lower current will improve the efficiency offixtures and therefore increase energy savings, whilsta higher current will result in a higher light flux sothat you can reduce the number of fixtures.
Always use the power you need
The modular optical system and the possibility tochoose the correct drive current for LEDs will alwaysallow you to have the right power under specificdesign conditions, and also help you deal withmaintenance and retrofitting problems.

Energy efficiency and energy saving
Consuming less energy without giving up thebenefits of technological progress. This is the greatchallenge for the future of our planet. This is because greater energy efficiency means lowerconsumption without compromising light quality.Being able to distinguish colours and perceive cleardetails when transiting on urban streets help improvethe safety of drivers and pedestrians. In addition, lights that mimic daylight will improve the perceptionof faces and increase our sense of safety. Thanks towhite LED light, cities are safer and more liveableeven after dusk.

State-of-the-art technology
The Stelvio / Mini Stelvio line was designed with aseries of features and solutions to maximise theduration of the lamp’s life:Use of the best available LEDs and power suppliesModular optics with electronic circuits equipped withbypass circuit (in case of defects in singlesemiconductors) Overheating control system with automatic reductionof currentAnti-condensation valveVersion with safety device against peak powerbeyond 10 KW available on request Low temperature electronicsAll these features help to extend lamp life past50,000 hours.
Life expectancy
LEDs, unlike traditional sources, will not turn offsuddenly when their working life ends, but willslowly fade their initial luminous flux until they turnoff completely. In fact, LEDs do not break (except formanufacturing damages) but decay gradually andconstantly. The decrease of LED flux is defined by the workinglife and is represented by the L80 mark (see chart),which means that the flux is kept up to 80%.The “B” letter followed by a number rangingbetween 10 and 50 indicates the quality of thefixture and defines the LED percentage that keepsthe declared characteristics when it reaches 50,000working hours.
EXAMPLE: LED declared L80/B10 = 50,000 hrs This means that when the LED reaches 50,000hours of operation, 90% (B10) of the LED willhave a luminous flux corresponding to 80% ofthe initial flux (L80)
luminous flux %

Reduced resistance to wind
The fixture’s design is configured to minimise wind-exposed surfaces. 400 sqcm of side surfaces for Mini Stelvio, 470 sqcm for Stelvio.
Photobiological safety
We often read about photobiological safety inlighting design. This very important factor isdetermined by the amount of radiations emitted byall the sources with a wave length ranging between200 nm and 3000 nm. Excessive radiation exposurecan be harmful for human health. The EN62471standard classifies light sources into risk groups. RG0 (exempt risk group): the lighting source isexempt from risks in compliance with EN 62471Standard.RG1 (low risk group): no risk deriving from a limitedemission of radiation.RG2 (moderate risk): the lighting source does notpose hazards because of our aversion response tovery bright light sources, or due to the fact that wewould experience thermal discomfort. The products of the Stelvio / Mini Stelvio rangebelong to the RG0 group (exempt risk group).
Heat dissipation
The heat dissipation system was designed andmanufactured to allow LED operation at adequatetemperatures and guarantee excellentperformance/efficiency and long life.

Light dimming
In order to exploit the energy-saving potential of LEDtechnology, lighting fixtures are equipped with aninternal electronic system comprising amicroprocessor which controls the luminous fluxfrom zero to 100%, making energy savings increaseaccordingly. This will enable users to operate a lighting fixture atreduced power rates in specific applications, according to programmable periods of time usingdedicated sensors, such as light sensors or presencedetectors. In particular, according to the UNI-11248:2007 roadstandard, it is possible to classify roads dynamicallyinto two categories, and reduce the luminous flux atnight when traffic is low.Dynamic light is also recommended for less crowdedplaces like underground car parks and underpasses.
Programmable lighting control systems
At the customer’s request, the Stelvio / Mini Stelviorange of products can be equipped with a specialdevice to dim the lighting flux during the night-timewithout the need to install additional infrastructure. These fixtures can be installed into existing luminairesin the place of traditional street lighting systems, increasing energy savings resulting from the use ofLEDs, with the automatic night-time dimmingfunction. The device is capable of performing up to 5 night-time dimming steps; the system is supplied alreadyprogrammed by Disano illuminazione and the userdoes not need to perform any type of programmingduring installation.

Point-to-point control, management and diagnosis system with Wi-Fi
technology (upon request)
Power line carrier remote controlsystems
A special control system can be inserted inside thelighting fixture or into the lamp pole to monitor theproduct’s operating parameters. This type of remote control system is called “point-to-point”. A “point-to-point” system is basedon the power line carrier (PLC) technology thatenables a digital two-way communication betweenthe module installed in the fixture and the controlsystem. The control system is located inside thecontrol panel. The digital data are adjusted to themains voltage, so no BUS or extra conductors areneeded. Thanks to this “point-to-point” system, it is possible, for example, to monitor and save the fixture’selectrical parameters and, based on these settings, generate failures or alarms, turn off/on or adjust thefixture’s brightness. This is done through eithermanual or pre-set commands. The communication between the control centre (PC)and the “point-to-point” system occurs through acontrol panel using normal communication channels(GSM-GPRS-LAN network, etc.).
Wi-Fi remote control
LED lighting also comes with Wi-Fi connectivity. TheLEDs in Stelvio and Mini Stelvio can be “controlled”via the system’s remote control or smartphones.

Advantages in replacing old luminaires
The replacement of obsolete lighting systems basedon mercury vapour fixtures (still very common inresidential zones despite being outdated and poorlyefficient), will enable to reduce energy consumptionsby 50-60%, while increasing the light output to thelevels currently required by applicable legislation, without the need to modify neither the poles nor thesystems. With the modularity offered by Stelvio andMINI Stelvio fixtures you can always choose the exactamount of power necessary to deliver the rightlighting levels without over-dimensioning andtherefore wasting energy.

Advantages in installing new projects
Using Stelvio and Mini Stelvio LED lights instead ofhigh-pressure sodium luminaires enables you toobtain the same lighting results, reducing power andconsumptions by 25%-30% depending on the typeof road. Compared to high pressure sodium, LEDtechnology will significantly improve both the qualityof the light (which is white and not yellow) and thecolour rendering; moreover regular maintenance isno longer needed. Thanks to high performance LED optics (reflector +auxiliary lens), Stelvio and Mini Stelvio LED fixturescan be used along roads and keeping the samedistance between poles, like for high-pressuresodium lamps. In this way you can save energywithout increasing the number of light fixtures.
