interiors and exteriors but also to facilitate exciting lighting concepts in many different fields of

Last but very much not least, LED technology contributes to the well-being

of the hotel guests. From the foyer, corridors and guest rooms, to the bar,

restaurant and wellness area - wherever they are, guests can feel the magic

effects of light which has a positive influence on their mood, well-being and

productivity.

A friendly welcome to your guests The reception desk and lobby should instantly

entice the guests to come closer, invoking a sense

of a warm welcome. From the moment they enter

the building you can use light to create an eye

catching first impression. The subtle light of the

indirect illumination of the rear wall behind the

desk contrasts with the discreet, focused light for

orientation, leading the way to meeting points

or rest areas. The reception desk itself is a place

of work, illuminated to facilitate easy completion

of administrative tasks and clear communication

between the guest and the staff. Positioning

downlights above the desk not only provides a

functional environment but also surrounds the

guests with a harmonious light which they will

like to remember.

Hospitality

Arriving in a foreign city after a long flight or many hours on the motorway, my hotel should make me feel

welcome. This is not only about committed personnel giving me a professional smile. Equally important is a

friendly and inviting light, beaming brightly like the hotels stars.

In the reception area and lobby, stylish luminaires from the PLL series provide a sophisticated architectural design. Round spotlights from the FLIXX 100 and FLIXX 200 series, with a transparent light effect ring in the standard version and an optional decorative frame, are used for accent lighting.

Combine the useful and the agreeableLong and gloomy corridors without daylight are unenticing and can make guests

feel insecure. However, with functionally or stylistically sophisticated lighting

they can provide a visually appeal orientation through the building. Different

brightness and contrast zones provide corridors with a well arranged structure,

helping hotel guests to find their rooms more easily and escape routes are

easier to use in an emergency. Attractive lighting in an appropriate luminous

colour may even convert a plain corridor wall into a diversified gallery. With

this approach navigation routes become an experience but the type of wall and

ceiling fixtures selected is crucial to avoiding glare and unwanted shadows. In

addition, this lighting concept contributes substantially to safety in corridors

and staircases and helps to prevent accidents.

Companion

A good hotel does not just have beautiful rooms. The way towards them should be equally as

stimulating. Lucid and friendly, pure or reduced, with modern or classical art – atmospherically

illuminated corridors in a matching luminous colour show that a hotel has not only understood the

importance of style but also the wishes of their guests.

The uncomplicated recessed downlights in the Vale-Tu Flat S series can be combined perfectly with the Vale-Tu Square series of square recessed spotlights. With a closed lens optical system and a spotlight insert, they are economic solution that covers a wide spectrum of applications.

For a basic lighting solution, using the stylish appearance of the Vale-Tu Round series combined with wall-mounted luminaires of the Vale-Tu Vario series, can be enhanced using different fabrics, felt or leather variants as a design element.

Privacy

Despite travelling a lot, I am still curious about what to expect behind the door of my hotel room. I don’t mean simply

the size of the rooms and the furniture. It is the particular atmosphere that is waiting for me. With light radiating warmly

and telling me: Here you are more than a guest – just feel at home.

Just right for an agreeable stayWhether on a business, short trip or long vacation, guests want to feel

at home. And just like in their private homes, they feel most comfortable

with unobtrusive lighting; less light means more convenience. For

this reason we recommend fitting just a few luminaires that provide

soft light in guests rooms, leaving stronger accent lights for the

central living areas where more light is needed. Even where bright and

functional light is necessary, such as on the bathroom mirror or bedside

table, the feeling of well-being should not be lost. Controls that are

straightforward and intuitive allow every guest to adjust the light to

their preferences in a quick and easy manner.

Interaction

The classic square recessed downlights in the FLIXX 300 and FLIXX 400 series are an excellent solutions for efficient general lighting. The luminaires are delivered with a transparent light effect ring and may be additionally supplemented with optional decorative frames. The Lichtkanal series create a soft direct light on the wall.

Where work is pleasant Light can do more than just illuminate. It can enlighten, inspire and

motivate minds. It can change moods, connect people and create

emotional relationships. A well illuminated conference room can

energise, aid concentration and boost productivity. It’s not simply a case

of creating an ambience in which people are comfortable; lighting has

to facilitate both the tasks being undertaken and communication, with

a focus on the mean cylindrical luminance to ensure people’s faces are

clearly visible. Central to this concept is unobtrusive light that does not

distract and that is easy to control, allowing for different requirements

throughout the day – attuning for the welcome address or focused for

presentations. Different light scenes can also create a festive or casual

and relaxed atmosphere in in order to celebrate success appropriately.

On holiday trips and on business travels I have a need for rest and want to escape

from stress in the wellness area. This is my time. A relaxing, comforting light helps

me to find my balance when I’m in need of harmony.

The square version of FLIXX 200 luminaire series is ideal for basic lighting in wellness areas. Available in four sizes and with various decorative or light effect frames, it fits many different requirements. In addition, the Lichtkanal series provides different lighting atmos-pheres and colour settings.


Need for Rest

Helping to relaxAfter a stressful day, all guests might want to do is relax in the spa, sauna, swimming pool or

perhaps by playing sports. They want to get back to being themselves, relax and re-charge body and

mind with new energy. A gentle and soft indirect light can help them regenerate. With the correct

brightness, luminous colour and intensity, we can stimulate and relax the body, creating zones of

activity, rest, balance and relaxation. At the same time, an intelligent selection of light sources

radiates the value of the facilities and emphasizes their exclusive character. Last but not least it

is important to avoid dark undefined areas. Specifically arranged lights in these areas enhance the

impression of hygiene and cleanliness.

Enjoyment

Atmosphere à la carteIn addition to culinary variety, gastronomic facilities create a distinctive

surrounding for the hotel guests. Lighting can help to amplify these ambiences,

using different lighting scenarios depending on time of day, event or purpose.

This requires flexible lighting which can create different pre-programmed

landscapes with suitable luminous colours at the push of a button - soft light with

low intensity for breakfast in the morning, with a more energising experience

for lunch. The evening and night require a more intimate and atmospheric feel,

which can, for instance, be created with a diffused or indirect light and a few

accents on individual tables and selected areas such as the buffet. Particular care

should be taken to ensure the lighting makes the meals and beverages appear in

natural colours and in the best light. After all, we eat with our eyes first.

The versatility of the FLIXX 200 series is evident when used in restaurants. The stylish spotlight can be angled to different degrees and is an ideal solution for directed accent lighting. It can also be extended on request with an attractive decorative frame as a design element. Stylish wall-mounted luminaires of the PLL series provide for additional homogeneous general lighting here.


15 In the restaurant or breakfast room – the light should follow the varying needs of the guests over

the course of the day and accommodate these with different luminous colours. For example, nobody

wants to be in the spotlight when having dinner for two. Rather, this is the time of conversation in

the light of privacy.

In the evening, after a busy day, the bar is the right place for me to wind-down

in peace. I can be alone, in a pair, with friends or business partners but a pleasant

environment, with atmospheric lighting and a glass of wine, helps bring the day

to an ideal close.

The LTS Lichtkanal lighting system is suitable for creating both classical light lines and sophisticated architectural lighting in bars. The Balboa pendant luminaire, with or without mouth-blown glass shade, can be used for general lighting or to accentuate in corridors or above bar counters.


Freespace

The day's end in the right lightIt could be a stylish bar or an atmospheric lounge: Light should not only highlight the specific character

of the space, it should also relate to the mood of the guests. Maybe still tense from the stress of the

day, they want to relax. Alternatively, they may wish to create a border around themselves – but still

be open for others and new things. Intelligent lighting accommodates both needs. With focused light, a

table can be turned into an island. With gentle diffuse lighting and a suitable luminous colour, it creates

an open and connecting atmosphere. The bar counter and shelves with beverages are highlighted

and eye-catching, accentuating the products offered. Nevertheless the same applies as everywhere:

wherever people meet, make contact, relax and enjoy their time, good lighting should always just be

perceptible but not prominent.
