The use of Watt as a benchmark for brightness of illuminants is obsolete. Lumen (lm) is now used as a unit of measure for the brightness of different types of Illuminants.

Lumen = how much light in total

Candela = brightness within an angle

Lux = light intensity per square meter per Lumen

If the new LED Illuminant clearly shines brigh-ter than the old lightbulb, it is not because of the technology: Lightbulbs, as well as Halogen bulbs and energy-savings-bulbs, looses their brightness over time. Therefore, the illuminat appears brighter when replaced.

ANGLE OF RA-DIATION

The Angle of Radiation is defined as in which ang-le the light shines. Choose as required:

35° = Spot / Accent Illumination(e.g. Bathroom or Kitchen)

120-180° = area(e.g. Dinning table or Entrance halls)

>180° = Room(e.g. Living room or children’s room)

LIGHT COLOUR AND CO-LOUR TEMPERATURE

SERVICE LIFE

The colour temperature describes the colour impression of a light source. It is defined in Kelvin (k).

LEDs do not expire after reaching the service life, but rather emits only 70% of the original light output. Hence, in practice they retain a significant longer service life.

For special mood-lighting, we recommend products from the LEDvolution DECO series.

The LEDvolution PRO series is attributed by a particularly long service life.

SAFETY AND EN-VIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

LED Illuminants exists also as dimmable versi-ons. However, the Illuminat and Dimmer must be compatible with each other. Please note when switching from conventional Illuminants to LED.

LED Illuminants in operation produces minimal heat. Therefore there is no risk of fire danger.

LED Illuminants does not contain substances which are dangerous to animals or humans, and above all no mercury. They can therefore be used safely in the children’s rooms.
