LECTURE CAD/CAM FOR DENTISTS EASIER, FASTER & BETTER THAN EVER 20.02. 2016 WITH DR EDUARDO MAHN Dr. Mahn is a graduate from the University of Chile. He received the German DDS in Münster, West- falen Lippe one year later. In 2008, he published his doctorate thesis in 2008 at the Duesseldorf University, titled “Osseointegration of zirconia implants, an in vivo study” and got his doctorate de- gree in 2010. He also owns a Diploma form NYU. Between 2007 and 2009 he worked for Ivoclar Vivadent at the ICDE (International Center for Dental Education), Schaan, Liechtenstein and he is presently a guest lecturer at several universities. He is the author from several articles and has been lecturing intensively about Esthetic Conservative Dentistry and Implantology in more than 50 countries. Since the early beginning he has beeing contributing to the improvement and clinical application of the DSD concept around the globe. Dr. Mahn is presently Director of Clinical Research and the Director of the Esthetic Dentistry Pro- gram at the Universidad de los Andes in Santiago, Chile. He also mantains a private practice (CIPO CLINIC) emphasizing conservative esthetic dentistry and comprehensive implantology. AGENDA (short, pls turn) All-ceramic restorations provide better esthetics and biocompati- bility than metal ceramics. However, many early all-ceramic sys- tems were plagued by relatively low fracture strengths and an uncertain long-term clinical behaviour. Current high-strength cera- mic materials provide fracture strengths and fracture toughness up to ten times higher than that of traditional ceramic materials. The lecture will analyze the history and the improvements in CAD/ CAM technology. The properties, advantages and indications of new blocks are going to be discussed and new cementation techniques with the latest improvements are going to be presen- ted. The use and advantages of the CEREC system are going to be presented with fully documented clinical cases in high resolution. 3 CDE POINTS!
