EXAMPLE (Using an interesting fact for a hook) It is estimated that a simple plastic container will take 50 000 years to decompose. When I think about how many bottles and plastic containers I throw away a week, that’s a lot of landfill I will leave around in my lifetime. That is why we absolutely need to recycle. Recycling objects helps save the animals from eating plastic, it reduces the amount of pollution in the air and it helps save money by making other objects out of recycled products.

Fun Activity This is the afternoon to let your imaginations run wild. It is a free choice afternoon. You might like to: 1. Outdoor Tea Party: Have a tea party with your family or your stuffed animals. Read them a story,

share some picnic food. Play some games.

2. Wilderness Family: Pretend that you live in the woods year round. Create a small fort outdoors. 3. Circus: Pretend to put on a circus show outdoors. Put jump ropes on the ground as tight ropes. Hang hula hoops from the trees to throw old stuffed animals through for the animal acts. Practice bike riding tricks. Hula hoop or jump rope for long periods of time. 4.
