The Carleston teachers and staff wish you joy and peace as you celebrate the Holiday Season!
We know our students are looking forward to our 2nd grade Music Program, the Holiday parties, and our Polar
Express PJ day.
Thursday, December 20th is a student dress waiver day for students to wear Holiday clothing, and Friday,
December 21st is a student dress waiver day for students to wear pajamas.
We hope you can join us for these upcoming events:
Wednesday, December 12th -- 2nd grade Music Program o 6:00pm – Mrs. Joiner, Ms. Mehringer, and Mrs. Gonzales classes o 7:00pm – Mrs. Garcia, Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Melanson, and Mr. Byerly
Thursday, December 20th -- Holiday Parties o 9:30 – 4th grade o 12:00 – 1st grade o 1:45 – 3rd grade
Friday, December 21st -- Holiday Parties o 9:30 – Kindergarten and (AM) Prekindergarten o 11:00 – 2nd grade, Life Skills, (PM) Prekindergarten
Additionally, we are aware parking is limited. Please remember you can be ticketed if you park and leave your car unattended in a fire lane (red curb). Vineyard Church (across the street) has made their parking lot available for parking on our party days.
Safety Reminder:
Please remember it is against the law to be driving and talking on your cell phone within the posted school
zone times. Therefore, for the safety of our students and staff, when driving your car in our drives for arrival
and dismissal, please refrain from using your cell phone.
Attendance Reminder:
Our students are learning academics as well as habits now that will influence their future schooling and
adulthood. Please remember that every minute in the school day counts and our students miss important
information and instructional time when they arrive late to school or when checked out before the end of the
school day.

GT Academy Parent Information Night
Parents of current 4th—7th grade students are invited to attend the GT Academy Parent
Information Night on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 6:30pm-7:30pm. GT Academy Specialists
will give an overview of the GT Academy and answer any questions regarding the program. The
GT Academy is a program service option for students identified as Gifted/Talented.
