Learning Framework for Home – Kindergarten Term 2 Week 3 This is a sample guide of activities that you could use at home with your child/children. Mathematics

Write numbers 1-20 in rainbow colours.

Practise counting forwards and backwards with a parent/carer from 1 – 10 and then from 1 – 20

Before and After

Give the number before and after in the range of 1 – 10.

Give the number before and after in the range of 1 -20

Use your feet (walking heel to toe) to measure different rooms in your house.

Count how many steps you take.

Make a collage using 2D shapes.

Can you make them into a house?

What else can you make?

Cut paper into smaller shapes to make this picture.

Read number cards – from student pack.

Put the numbers in order forwards and in order backwards. Say the numbers out of order.

Each day say and write the days of the week and the date. Extension – co-write the long date. E.g Today is Monday the 11th of May 2020.

Using a deck of cards, flip two cards and subtract the smaller number from the bigger one. Use a number line to help you.

To prepare for your fruit break, help an adult cut your fruit into halves.

History and Geography

History – Ask your parent/carer about the games and activities they did when they were younger.

If possible, teach or play that game with your child.

Science and Technology

Choose three different objects in your house and describe the material.

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education

Play catch with a balloon. If you drop it, the other person is awarded a point.

If unavailable, use a soft ball or toy.

Count how many points did you have?

Discuss how to control our feelings. When we are upset, what can we do to feel better? When we are angry, how can we calm down quickly?

Creative and Performing Arts

Complete and decorate a tracing animal. Take your time with tracing the lines and colour in your animal.

OR

Follow a directed drawing video from YouTube (Art Hub for Kids).

Use utensils and kitchenware (pots, pans etc.) for percussion.

You could also use your body parts and explore the different sounds they make.

Sing along to Jack Hartman songs on YouTube.
