Management experiences

• During past 25 years of being CEO & chairman of large holding companies I realized that:

– 1- Most of managers where technical and knowledge oriented.– 2- successful managers apart

from having technical skills, had somehow good business experiences on during their life and carriers.

B

B1.companies had to expend lots of time and

money to train and transfer business experience to graduated employees

2.most of top and middle mangers had lack of marketing, finance, English, IT, communication, managerial and knowledge skills.

5. among different kinds of mangers there were rarely who had ability to run different kind and situation of companies.

i.e. profitable, bankrupt, bad managed and loss companies.

Academic experiences

Amirkabir University studies:1- ministry of industry ordered a project on studying about train of trainers on entrepreneurship. One of the results of that study showed that :

B

•Unfortunately in iranian high schools there weren't any trained qualified teachers on entrepreneurship.•Students didn’t really understand the concept of entrepreneurship in spite of having entrepreneurship text book.•At universities there were neither lecturer nor teaching material.

B

2- We started for the first time the “essentials of entrepreneurship” course for students at dormitories in Amirkabir University and results were:

1. Most students were knowledge oriented

2. Lack of technical skills were observed

3. Most undergraduates wished to find a job after graduation in a large company

Academic experiences B

4.There were very few intentions to start a business

5.About 90-95% of students had never experienced earning of any money at all.

6.About 80-90% of them didn’t have any information about financing such as loans, balance sheet, profit statement, accounting and cost benefit concepts.

B

6.They had lack of information, knowledge and management skill (communication, team-work decision making, coordination, planning,).

7.About 70-75% of students were weak on English language.

B

High School experiencesBy noticing that some of difficulties

of business and entrepreneurial skills are caused due to high school education system, we started some research on high schools and the results were as follows:

1- there are 3 branches: 1-theoritical 2-technical skills 3- knowledge and work

2- out of three main branches at high schools only in one branch, concept of business and entrepreneurship is thought (knowledge and work).

3-Unfortunately in iranian high schools there weren't any trained qualified teachers on entrepreneurship.4-Students didn’t really understand the

concept of entrepreneurship in spite of having entrepreneurship text book.

5- usually best students study in theoretical and technical skills branches and unfortunately there are not any business and entrepreneurial educational plan for them.

6- most students for the future carrier are only encouraged to go to university in order to get a degree by there teacher’s and parent’s.

• 7- getting a university degree is the only essential dream of all iranian students.

• 8- Teachers were not aware of business and entrepreneurial concepts.

• 9- for the future carriers most students are encouraged to become doctors, engineers, teachers, sport professionals, pilots, police man and actress by their teachers.

10- students usually are not encouraged by their teachers to start a business as the future carrier.11- out of 90-95% of students don’t work and earn any money during their studying period and even at summer time.12- early business experiences during summer vacation, part time jobs such as sell candy, shine shoes and APPRENTICE are not value in iranian society at the moment.

Family experiences • Students role model are usually 1:father 2:mother 3:teacher4:a famous character

• Parents don’t encourage their children to:1. Dream starting a biz for the future carrier.2. Do part time and summer vacation jobs.3. Learn how to earn money from childhood.
