What’s that smell?The inside of an evaporator can be warm and moist, especially when in defrost orheating modes. Bacteria and other micro-organisms which create bad smells, causeallergic reactions and spread diseases, will thrive in these conditions.

Some evaporator units are notorious for their smells – but all evaporators will harbour unpleasantgerms and generate nasty odours if they are not cleaned and disinfected regularly with a goodquality product.

Our system isn’t cooling properlyAny dirt coating a coil’s surfaces will act as an insulating blanket, which seriouslyaffects its ability to function effectively. To achieve the same cooling effect, thesystem has to work harder and run more frequently, reducing the efficiency of thesystem. This uses more energy – which means higher energy bills – and puts extra pressure on thesystem’s components.

Where’s the water coming from?Water dripping from the evaporator tray and running down walls can be anothersymptom of dirt build-up on the coil. An insulating layer of dirt on the evaporatorwill compromise the refrigerant’s ability to effectively remove heat from the room. As

a result, ice forms during the cooling cycle and melts when the unit cuts out – releasing an excessof water. Damage caused to the fabric, furnishings and decoration of the client’s premises can besurprisingly costly to repair – and all of this can be avoided simply by regular coil cleaning.

Coil cleaning – your key to aneasier life

In addition to these very good reasons for routine coil cleaning, we would also like to draw your attention toPart L of the Building Regulations, which relates to Building Log Books. It states that a system must run asclose to the manufacturer’s specifications as possible for maximum efficiency – and to do this the systemmust be clean and properly charged with gas. HB-30®

HB-30® will effectively remove limescaleand slime – which are commonproblems in ice machines – and willdisinfect all surfaces. EndoFlush®

EndoFlush® is an internal system cleanerideal for use after a burnout or retrofit.It is CFC-free and is not a regulatedsubstance.
