City of Gold

Where I Got the Design Idea

I decided to try and create the Eldorado that I envisioned while I

read Candide. I based my design off of the Disney cartoon of Eldorado, and I used some inspiration from

Mayan architecture (because I love looking at pictures of their buildings and really want to go see them one

day!)

ExplanationMy research topic is over the idea of a

Utopia. Eldorado is an example of a Utopia that has appeared in

literature, such as Candide,. Eldorado is

Voltaire’s Utopia .

The story mentions that it is a city of

gold, but the city that I made reflects more on the image of the city of gold, but my

report focuses on the Utopia idea.

This is a very short article. I did not use this in my paper because it did not exactly pertain to the point of

my paper, but I found it, hoping that I would find a picture to base my

visual aid off of. Although it is not a part of my paper, I hope some of
