BackgroundLARAS was born from the concerns of
some young activists on increasing HIV/AIDS in Indonesia, where the province of
East Kalimantan appears as one of thehigh risk of AIDS.
The organisation was established since31 August 2003 and was legalized in
Official Document of Public Notary in 08January 2004, then renewed 28 oktober2009.
VisionEstablishment of a civilizedcommunity, self-sufficiency, healthybehaviour in the social system that is
transparent and non-discriminatory

3. LARAS has a professionally equipped
minor surgery and a dedicated labo-ratory.
4. LARAS is now registered to provide rapidtesting for HIV.
5. Government supply LARAS with thenecessary therapeutic medicines forsymptomatic treatment.
