Cold Chain SolarizationFreon based small cold storage plants The range of the power consumption varies from 1.5 to 10 kW, distributed mainly between outdoor & indoor units. The indoor unit operates 24 hours whereas the average for the outdoor unit is approximately 18 hours.
There is possibility to solarize either the entire system or one of the units.The average power consumed by a 1.5 kW system is apx 20-30 units per day. For a 100% backup, it would require 8 kwp solar systems.
