· Nifty ends at 7109, Sensex flat; midcaps gain, PSU banks up.

. The market took a breather after breaking records for three consecutive sessions. The Nifty ended the session flat at 7109. This is the first time since June 2005 and only the fifth time in history that the Nifty has closed unchanged.

·Dow, S&P 500 end at record highs again; Nasdaq slips. The Dow and the S&P 500 eked out record closing highs again on Tuesday, while the Nasdaq resumed its recent slide, dragged down by shares of Cisco.

. Asian markets mixed; Hang Seng gains, Nikkei down. Asian stock markets kicked off Wednesday mixed, with Australia in focus following the release of the country's federal budget.

. European stock rally stalls; Portuguese banks sag. European shares paused on Wednesday after a two-month rally that propelled a number of indexes to multi-year peaks, as investors awaited confirmation of more stimulus from the ECB before they chased the market higher.
