Effective use

Would you know it if you saw it?

 Can you describe it?

 How do you know?

Page 12: Leadership*and*Vision* · Leadership*Development* It’s*time*to*develop*some*answers…* (From*here*on*out,*you*can*NOT* use*the*first*slide*as*your response…!)*

Effective Use   Does technology enhance learners’ learning

experiences?   Defined by objectives   Defined by (district) goals   Defined by appropriate standards

Does it promote purposeful critical thinking and knowledge acquisition skills?   SCANS Report   CEO Forum Report   ACOT Research

Page 13: Leadership*and*Vision* · Leadership*Development* It’s*time*to*develop*some*answers…* (From*here*on*out,*you*can*NOT* use*the*first*slide*as*your response…!)*

What constitutes effective use?  Classrooms move from being teacher-

centered to student-centered   Learner is producer of knowledge   Learning is multidisciplinary   Learning is authentic, i.e., real-world, rich, and

complex   Technology is used to help schools achieve stated

curriculum goals/outcomes
