Being an achiever explains the drive and describes a constant need for achievement. This brings energy needed to work for long hours without burning out. This is good from a leadership stand point because productivity, high energy, and long hours are demanded

ACHIEVER:

RELATOR:Being a relator describes the attitude toward relationships often bringing in and being naturally pulled toward familiar people. Being a relator also means wanting to know others closely and genuinely, and wanting to understand others feelings, goals, dreams, etc. From a leadership stand point this is beneficial because in having to choose a cabinet of qualified team members this quality is necessary. Also having the desire to know the goals of others can often help clearly shape ones own goal.RESTORATIVE:A restorative loves to solve problems. Restoratives enjoy the challenge of analyzing, identifying a problem, and finding a solution. In a way this is bringing things back t life. As a leader this is important because it is pertinent to be aware of problems and then being able to create or find a solution to the problem.

POSITIVITY:Positivity is the theme that celebrates achievements. It is generous with praise and looks for the positive in situations. Being able to be and remain positive as a leader is a very good trait and quality because no one likes a grouch. Celebrating others and giving them praise is also very beneficial as a leader because it makes the followers feel valued and important.

LEARNER:Being a learner means one is simply drawn to and loves learning and the process of learning. This is a good quality for a leader because the continuation of knowledge is very important in life and as a leader.

A Time When…

I used to play basketball when I was in high school. I was the captain of the team, and that meant I was the leader of the team. As the leader of the team I was expected to lead the team in various ways. Keeping them motivated, encouraged, well conditioned, and keeping the morale of the team up were few of the many roles I had to fill as a leader. I came to realize making sure the girls felt like they were apart and valued was a big factor in their cooperation as a whole. This meant frequent high fives, good jobs, and reassuring head nods to each of the girls was a must. Keeping the girls motivated and encouraged was fairly easy when the felt appreciated. Sometimes though, it took a little more than that. Inspirational quotes, team devotionals, and team meetings helped with motivation and also kept the team morale up. In order to keep the girls and myself conditioned for the basketball court, I had to have high expectations and goals from the girls that needed to be met. We had to achieve more and more each week and each practice. Implementing a different goal to reach each week also helped with not becoming complacent. I feel like all of my strengths play a role in this situation in someway or another.
